What please me the most is we didn't even need 'home field advantage'!

What a load ob betty swallocks this post is!!!

Richard Barker has been one of our better selected few players this season. why do our so called fans slate a player so much when he is the leagues 4th top golascorer. OK granted a number of these are penalties, but you need the nerve to step up and still find the net. look at last season when we missed all of those pens at the beginning of the season.

When a ball is played up to the front two Barker will win 95% of these balls. the fact of the matter is WILSON is playing players out of position, continues to chop and change players. Now that monkhouse is fit again hopefully he will be a regular at left wing to supply the balls to the front lads.

We are currently the 5th top scoring team in the league, yet have the fourth wourst defence. That tells me the lads up top are doing their bit, and the boys at the back are the problem. so i think you fans need to start and reconsider your direction of critism

Well said!! I do agree that at times a bit of pace up front will scare the opposition, But otherwise Loyalblue your post is spot on  we need to worry about our Keepers and Defence, NOT our forward line!

Jan Budtz didnt play yesterday and Pools won? You could say the same for Antwi etc etc

but i don't think this post is a load of bollocks, and i don't think really that anyone is criticising barker

i couldn't agree more with chip, after weeks of poor performances lots of fans have been asking:

-what's wrong with mccunnie?
-why not play a recognised RB at RB, esp when before injury and loan signings he was playing v well?
-why not play monkhouse who had a cracking season last season and despite his injury is now back to fitness and clearly being left out - saturday and playing foley at LM is the most clear example of this and a ludicrous tactical selection
-why not recognise that when barker is on the field, some players take easy option of humping ball to him and try two fast flair players up front. we've had moore, porter, brown and mackay who could fill those two roles up front, now we have one of those who has moved on. if you think of our most successful season we had boyd and porter up front and it was exhilerating stuff to watch. that's probs what many of us think back to and would love to see. we did the same when we went down last time under scotty, only it was daly we would hump the ball to. a problem is that barker is so good at winning a header, bringing the ball down etc that he does get us out of jail a lot of times when we hump it long.
-why drop one of last season's best players (ben clark) and play a lad on loan who has consistently made mistakes, and the poor defensive record seems to have had knock on effect on nelson's performances

i think all pools fans are agreed that barker has scored many invaluable goals this season, and that his penalty taking would have seen us win the league if he was with us from start of last season. we'd all agree that we have two keepers that neither of us would like to see in the first team if we had a better option. we all agree that off the pitch antwi is a cracking bloke and does loads in the community.

but for me until the questions above can be answered satisfactorily (and i'm not sure some of them can be) then wilson should still go.

...and sinking. We were 2nd only to Leeds at one point not so long ago. Look at recent form and you'll see we are nowhere near 5th. It might be something to do with James Brown's absence, or Ian Moore's, but our recent mini-run of shocking results has coincided with the goals drying up, and when you get problems at both ends you really are in the brown stuff!
