Would've preferred Porter to Barker and Lee to Nelson, but apart from that it doesn't look too bad.

Mackay starting before Porter is absolute lunacy.

I hope Mackay proves me wrong.

Is this a case of Wilson cutting his nose off to spite his face again with Porter? Stories about a return to Australia appear, and Joel can't get a game again.

Difficult to Criticise Wilson for starting MacKay when he's scoring so many in the reserves.

In my opinion I'm amazed that he hasn't given Mackay more minutes than he has so far. I've seen Mackay score two and three goals in a couple of ressie matches and still get slated for other parts of his game. Yes he is still raw even after this first year but I think some people forget that he never came through any kind of youth team at all at a club like most of our players did. That is obviously going to give him a massive disadantage from the start as he has missed out on all of those basic formative years that others he is playing against have had. But, what he does have is a brilliant natural ability for finding the back of the net and that is why I hope that we perservere with him and give him as much time as possible to develop and be given a chance. Hes scored an incredible number of goals for the ressies and I honestly believe we'd have had more out of him in the first team if only he were given a proper chance. Ten minutes at the end of one match then nothing for the next six games is no good to him, if he is going to be sub then give him regular minutes at the end of every game and let him show what he can do.

By the way I've payed no real attention to the team Porter has been linked to until now.

I really think our local press really need to pay some attention to the club, the WELLINGTON Phoenix.

A return to Australia boys!?

New Zealand is a fair distance from Australia, even though they do play in the Aussie league.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see him do well, it's just the the times I've seen him come on away from home this season he's looked out of his depth and out muscled.

Hmm! I wonder what Mr Lee did that was so wrong? Perhaps it's just a matter of leaving out cos he's on loan and only considered as cover.

I've nothing axe to grind regarding Joel Porter, but I do think many people view him through rose coloured glasses as much as some do Ritchie Humpries.

confised

I thought it was Liddle (who was our MOTM, just shading Collins) who played the ball but I may be wrong.

Porter really came into the game second half. Definately start him and McKay (his finish was sublime) on Saturday.
