Earthquake In Hartlepool!!!!

I've just been layed in Bed reading Letters on Ceefax and the whole house shook....it was an Earthquake!!!! :shock:

I texted my mate who lives over the road and asked him if his house shook and he phoned and said....

'Thank feck you phoned....me and our lass shit ourselves'!!!! :shock:

Not just up there, I'm in Buckinghamshire and I felt it.

News has it that the town centre has been totally demolished. Early estimates have said that the damage has caused millions of pounds worth of improvements :grin:

I was reading at 1 this morning, I felt the whole house shake for a couple of seconds, then spent the next hour lying there listening to the radio reporting the end of the world..............very wierd

I was woken by the whole house shaking. It also woke my husband who can usually sleep "through an earthquake"

I did feel it. Being at 1 in the morning, I was quite tired and given that my house is in the flight path of East Midlands Airport, my first reaction was that a plane had gone down. The second one was that maybe a lorry had crashed into or near my house. When it was 'only' an earthquake I was quite disappointed.

My husband and I were woken up by a huge shake and I thought he was shaking the bed!!! Soon I realised it was earthquake and was surprised and also terrified as I just couldn't get ready for it! Maybe we shall have some practice for such things in order to keep us all safe? I was so scared as if it really make a damage, my 3 month old baby boy might get hurt as I was so not experienced and terrified that I even didn't think to pick him up...So lucky it was just a shake.

have not been in the vicinity of a quake measuring either 6 or 7 on the richter scale, and was not in the vicinity of this 5.2 quake. In fact I felt absolutely nothing. This, however, won't stop me from trying to find some tenuous link to the natural phenomenon we call "climate change" and pointing the finger at the 4x4 driver who lives 3 doors away. It's all his fault anyway and I urge you all to picket his house and weigh his rubbish in case he causes another quake.

We always get tremors in East Anglia like this but last nights was bad. So bad that it got me into trouble as I was sitting up drinking another bottle of plonk than the one I was drinking when she went to bed. Well as I sneaked into bed rather tipsy at about 00:40 the house shook, she woke up, I slurred something earthquakish and today I am not being spoken to. Thanks for nothing you Judas seismic wave causing tectonic earthquake grasses.

My husband and I feel nature has turned against us! Three or four weeks ago our fence was blown over in heavy winds, and last night we lost some roof tiles in the quake! Seems like nature is demolishing our house piece by piece!

i actually quite enjoyed the unpredictability of it all - i was watching Shameless on E4 + 1 after enjoying a few vodka and fresh oranges and it got rather intense after about 5 seconds and then stopped.
