Ban increased to four games for a frivolous appeal, same as happened to Sam Collins. At least the FA are trying to be consistent. sctatchinghead

I can understand what they are trying to do in an attempt to reduce the number of pointless appeals but it's going to cause more arguments than its worth. Boro were stupid to appeal his sending off and I can't understand why they would risk them extra match ban while you can understand why Pools did.

And I am amazed (not really cos the FA are clueless) that following the rejection of Aliadiere's appeal, they haven't then applied the letter of the law to Mascherano and given him a three-game ban. Raise your hands to another players face and you get sent off. So why wasnt Mascherano? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead sctatchinghead sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

I concur.

Anyone would think he played for one of the 'top 4'.

Oh....

Southgate after the game on Saturday said that he had "no complaints" about the sending off, he didn't say this to his mate over a quiet pint in the pub.... he said it on 'Match of the Day' before millions of viewers

The poncy French twat might has well gave him a proper bat rather than the feminine slap which he is sitting out four games for.

Still I doubt if the appeal was by a Chelsea or an Arsenal they'd call it 'frivolous'.

They didn't they other week in fact Essien had an appeal rejected but no games were added to his three, recently us, Derby, and the Boro's have been deemed frivolous. It makes your piss boil

The FA are a bigger joke than Darlow.

I really coudnt care less what happens at the Boro BUT i thought this incident was a tad unfair, especially when the Liverpool player commited the same offence first and was not punished. One rule for one and one for the others again.

F*ck the Boro!

Funniest decision of the weekend had to be Darlo's. Their lad Austin (I think) got booked for timewasting from a throw in when it was other players/managers delaying the throw by not giving him the ball back. Consequently it was his fifth booking and he'll now be suspended, you can't appeal bookings so the decision stands. rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl

The more rules there are the more difficult it is to be consistent. The FA are making rods for their own backs.

Me, I'd give Alaidiere a five game ban for having a name that sounds like the end of a crap song.

Steve Gibson just been on SSN about this. The guy is a tit but he made some good points, apparently Charlton made a similar appeal over a year ago and their appeal was called 'frivolous' so they appealed further and the FA were going to investigate what a 'frivolous' claim is. 15-16 months later and they still haven't acted on this.

Collins would have been back this Saturday if it wasn't for the extra game, I'd feel a lot happier with him and Spike at the back banghead banghead

Why is Gibson a tit?, I hate the Borer through and through, but I think he is possibly one of the best chairmen in the country, keeps out of the limelight for the main and seems to me to be a half decent bloke, for a borer fan that is

One of the last people in Football who deserves to be called a tit is Steve Gibson.
And he's right re Allialdiere.
