Sorry to see him go/not bothered. Personally I think he's too slow but many at ER see him as the answer to all our 'on field' problems. Only asking like sctatchinghead

Glad to see him go, apart from a couple(?) of goals from free kicks he hasn't exactly set the world alight

The only right thing he done all night was put his boots on the right foot!!!! confised confised confised

One goal - One Free-Kick = Thomson!!!! confised

AS ABOVE = Beardsley!!!! confised

I'd rather have Beardsley playing!!!! confised :sweeeet:

He looked like a player who'd come to get fit all right, every game was played at the pace of a friendly, he had a few neat touches, but you were never gonna get 110% challenges, .......

I think that confirms my opinion so it's back to the drawing board at ER then.

Only saw him 3 times. He was poor all 3 times, left Humphreys exposed as he rarely (if ever) tracked back. A couple of passes per game were ok but that's not enought to merit a first team place. To his credit he did try and organise the team on the field, something I think is lacking since Barrons 'retirement'.
If Leeds seem him as the messiah I saw him as a very naughty boy.

To be fair we knew that when Thompson was coming to us that he wasn't going to be match fit, he hadn't played many games and had a couple of niggly injuries already this season so we were never going to get a player who would last the full 90 each week.

I do however think that Thompson wasn't a bad player and showed some real touches of quality. He isn't however a winger any more and it was no suprise that his best game for us came when he played in place of Boland in the centre of midfield. When played in centre mid he was creative and also proved to be a bit of a battler, remember those challenges he was throwing himself into against Southend?

He shouldn't have been keeing Monkhouse out on the wing but probably should have stayed in the middle in place of Boland thats for sure.

One last pay day for Thompson though wouldnt it if he came here sadx. It wouldnt be so bad if he kept himself fit looked good and could play a bit like Beagrie did until he was 39-40 but Thompson doesnt look like he gives a shiit

after signing one millionaire footballer (Elliott) we certainly didn't need another.

Was it John Orley on the pa last night? He sounded different!

by the way I think the Thommo loan signing was bobbins as
were his performances (he'll probably return to ER and
turn in some magnificent displays.
I thought the days of those signings by Pools
were long gone...obviously not!

He was good when he was in centre mid, apart from against Luton his freekicks were poor.

Against Port Vale, Wilson said "Thompson won us the match" (I'm serious, watch it on Pools' World). I thought he was at fault for Vale's first goal at the very best.
