Tonight was a new low as far as i'm concerned. I know i don't post on here very often but there are a couple of issues that i wanted to get off my chest.

To start with, it is plainly obvious to all but the management that the goalkeeping situation is a real problem at the moment and tonights goal was an absolute shocker by Budtz. I cannot dispute that.

However....

The reaction of a number of fans behind the town end goal was nothing short of disgusting. I agree that if you pay your money then you should be able to voice your opinion but surely there is a line that was crossed tonight. When the goal went in it was clear that the lad was devastated - and rightly so, but is a reaction like that really the way to improve his performances, his confidence?

'You bounder'..... 'You w@nker' etc etc. For me the only w@nkers were those stood at the back of the town end and directly behind the goal at the front. These people are not fans, they are simply people whose lives are so meaningless that they have to act like cretins to feel like big men.

Yes we need a new keeper, but this is not the way to go about things. It was a poor team performance tonight, not all about 1 man. He didn't lose us 3 points because we were never going to win the game playing like that.

I agree with most of your comments and I never boo a player. But you should never be ashamed to be a Poolie. rolf

the only thing i am ashamed of is that some dozy bastads on here can think showing how you feel about losing is more annoying than getting beat

That's just what I have been saying. It's not Budtz's fault - it's Wilson's for picking him!

I absolutely agree Norton. It's abusive behaviour and in most other walks of life the bullies (because that's what they are) would probably be arrested. But then in most other walks of life they might be deterred by a potential bloody nose.

For God's sake, however passionate we get about it, it's still only a game

Totally agree, for bus to suggest that Budtz isn't trying just goes to show what a complete twit (for want of a better word) he is. There is a big difference between not trying and simply, unfortunately, not being good enough.

Are you thick?? You seem to be missing the point!!! We all agree with what you have written here, but it is plain to see that he is not good enough and Wilson continues to pick him week after week. If this was his first mistake then you could not blame Wilson, however, it isn't, so you can! (without having to be an arse about it)

Well, one thing for sure and whatever the ethics of it, bellowing abuse brings no returns at all.
If we really want to make a point about players consistently not being good enough, or not being worth the money to watch, we should start boycotting matches.

Again, missing the point entirely. I totally agree with free speech and people having an opinion... but answer me one thing, would those clever people shouting from a distance be big enough to go and say those exact words to his face on the street? Not in a million years!!!

Nope, because i'll support pools through thick and thin, even if we were losing 10-0 every week. On 11th March, why not pop over and watch darlo, you'll fit right in

Neither. I'd sign a loanee. Brad Jones would be nice.

as soon as (if) we get to safety, I can see attendances dropping like a stone for the last couple of games. I have a feeling that Pools will take this right to the last game. Too many bad selections, too many crap players and too many mistakes, very often not enough quality or effort and cohesion. Bloody awful season this has been.

Well, I don't see it quite like that, Norton. There are any number of 'organisations' that I'd like to support.....can't afford all of them so I tend to pick the most deserving

That old chestnut, it's only a game......

Should we just accept the garbage served up then because "it's only a game"?

I have said this before - the players and management wouldn't get any stick at all if they performed as a proper Hartlepool United team should and could. We wouldn't even have to be winning... losing in the right manner is acceptable to most fans, I wasn't there tonight so some could say I can't comment, but it doesn't sound like they are putting in the required effort does it?

That old chestnut, it's only a game......

Should we just accept the garbage served up then because "it's only a game"?

I have said this before - the players and management wouldn't get any stick at all if they performed as a proper Hartlepool United team should and could. We wouldn't even have to be winning... losing in the right manner is acceptable to most fans, I wasn't there tonight so some could say I can't comment, but it doesn't sound like they are putting in the required effort does it?

But my point was ...it's only a game therefore personal abuse is out of order. If indeed it's ever in order.
Antway I'm off to watch Jools Holland

look i have seen plenty of shite pools teams over the years and have never felt the need to boycott matches but someone suggested it and i am responding to that thrilled
now if you havent the courage to show your disgust at wilson by boycotting the game then so be it i will consider your opinion to be as worthless as the shite you are posting on here tonight banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead

If someone told you to jump of a bridge would you???

It's all relative. If a six foot blonde with 38ff baps offered you a quick one, would you say no?

I stopped going to Pools when Scotty was in 'charge' after the Tamworth game, i said i'd never go back 'till he left. I didn't.

I never went tonight, mainly because i was busy in the house and i'm glad i fooking never.

Big problems at Pools in my opinion.
