As I couldn't join in the Bunker 5-a-side game last night I decided to take in the reserves game at the Vic instead.

Got to admit I wasn't that impressed, neither side could string more than a few passes together, lots of huffing and puffing without any real quality.

McCunnie played right back, no really he did, looked to be playing within himself, came off early in the second half. Monkhouse played the full 90, started on the left wing then moved into the centre of midfield for most of the second half. A good run out for him, fitness coming back nicely.

Disappointed in the front pairing of Rae and MacKay, on that showing it's clear to see why Tom Craddock has been brought in.

One final thing to note, the last perk of the STE remains in place for reserve games, it cost me nothing to get in. That'll not last!

I was looking out for him, he didn't stand out for me, however I'd be foolish to judge him on one game. Did notice the bench giving him lots of words of encouragement/advice.

In the first half hour he played a couple of lovely balls but I noticed Butterworth telling him to stick to Kenny Lunt , who was pulling the strings a bit in midfield.
In the second half he got caught on the ball a few times and does lack a bit of strength , but Lunt is a good pro with championship games under his belt. It won't have done Rowell any harm being up against Lunt. a bit of decent experience for him.
He can certainly pick a pass out. Early days yet. Some of my mam's grub wouldn't go amiss.
Good prospect.

Who did we have in goal?

And how did he play?

1-1. Rae scored ours from about an inch.

Doesn't count, it's a tap in, almost as worthless as a 'pelanty'
