It's been revealed this has been given the nod of approval by the government. All the local authorities concerned, including Hartlepool, had, in November.... 'agreed to pool budgets for this scheme'... Hmmm... only catch is, despite Hartlepool paying towards it, we won't actually be able to use it because this is the one place it won't serve. However, the ones running the show said there is the..... 'potential for links to Hartlepool'....
So let's get this straight, we pay, the figure needed is reported as £14 million shared between the authorities, but get nothing back but talk of 'potential' at some future date.... sctatchinghead
Would you pay into a pot for your neighbours to have a new car each, but be happy to be told you have the 'potential' to have one in the future as there's not enough left for you

Or you could have read the full story, whereby I believe the Mayor insisted that we only put in at each stage an amount commensurate with the benefit that we will receive.

Which is along the lines of my slightly more diplomatic answer above!

I can only read the information I'm given....will the figure you mention then be a big fat zero....?
