You may be right and we have signed no one .But unless your sat next to the club's or the League's fax machine you could be wrong as they may have faxed some player they have signed and no one would know until business hours tomorrow.its highly unlikely but possible.

Secondly we have all of a week to wait until february 8th when it opens again until 5 pm on March 23rd.

The rules are as follows.........

Previous restrictions on length of loans were altered to allow players of all ages to be loaned from window to window for either a half or full season. (Antwi in our case)

Clubs can register a maximum of 8 loan signings, 4 under 23 and 4 over 23 in any season, with only two of the older age group allowed to come from the same club.

The League, and the FA, made provision for clubs to take players on short term emergency loans during the closed periods in exceptional circumstances – there is no limit on the number of emergency loans.

As previously no more than 5 loan players will be allowed to feature in a club's 16 man matchday squad.

The minimum period of an emergency loan will be 28 days.

The maximum period of an emergency loan will be 93 days.

If after the first 28 day loan period the loan is extended, the parent club can recall the player at 24 hours notice.

I don't want to thought of as an optimist but at least we have still got Brown, Liddle, Sweeney etc. A true lack of ambition would have been if these players had gone. The big disappointment for me is that Moore has gone and we have not been able to use him or any money we got for him to get a replacement in. We now know who we have to rely upon. If senior players don't do the business then I hope we give some of the more enthusiastic/less experienced squad members the opportunity to try. As for Wilson - the challenge is clear -organise his team, motivate his team and do something to win the fans back over and keep them on-side.

So would we be stronger or weaker without Sweeney. He is the only one off the transfer list who hasn't gone.

we would be no weaker without him IMO. All i can say for him is that the more bodies the better right now BUT given the option of getting rid and replacing him with someone else, this would be a better option
