How much will this 'proven' goal scorer cost us? bearing in mind this is our divisions goal scoring chart:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... efault.stm

Or will a championship club sell us their net busting forward, for £65000?

Or shall I go down to the goal scoring tree and pick one off?

The defence is a different matter.......

there are plenty about you just have to find them! easier said than done i suppose but there are plenty of leagies other than the english league to look at, if the club wants to go forward IOR need to invest in some quality players which i cant see happening in the near future

FFS, quality players, how high quality do you want these players to be, given our average crowd is c5000, or do you want to be another in the long line clubs to go into administration

That along with the £5000000 IOR have written of is pish investment, isn't

Or perhaps we need a consortium, of local halfwit, know fuckall businessmen to take over and fook us over......

Jesus wept!

The local halfwit business types will more than likely have season tickets for the 'big three'....?

all the money me and the wife have handled through our business in the last two and a bit years, we're entitled to ask where it's gone!!! However bills have to be paid, and the tax situation for any business in the UK is quite frankly, awful. There are all kinds of taxes the football club is liable for, and any transfer money only goes towards stemming the losses incurred by the club. I fail to see how anyone thinks the club has pocketed the transfer fees, and the money is still in a bank account somewhere
Every year lower league clubs generally have to sell one or two star players just to pay off the creditors, I certainly don't like having the pressure applied to me in business, so I dread to think what kind of financial pressures some other less fortunate lower league clubs are experiencing.
We are lucky to have IOR, and I hope they realise the majority of fans feel that way (unlike the rarf on the Rivals board who says we needed a new owner)!!!!

That has to be one of the daftest things that I have ever read.

IOR write off loads of money every season.

And Pools have actually spent a lot more money on transfer fees than people would think....!

I think Marcus was a free Jonny he turned down a contract offer from Torquay but we did pay £30K for Jon Daly and 50K for Welsh international Chris Llewellyn  Also all the ground improvements and our super pitch isn't in such good nick by chance they have spent a fair whack on that.

It astounds me how ungrateful/ignorant people are to what IOR have done for our club, of course they aren't perfect in certain aspects but Wilson obviously has money to spend as it's been reported we have bid for up five players in the window. Also what do you think we are paying Alan Thompson in? I don't reckon nookie bear Bates would have done us any favours in that one.

I concur.

I think we are a little light squad wise in a couple of positions;

goalkeeper
centre half
full back
winger
midfield
centre forward

Really though, a good strong "talker" at centre half and a replacement for Moore at centre forward and we wouldn't be a million miles away from being ok.

does anyone think that some of the problems stem from the fact that no matter how badly certain individuals perform (and not just on a one-off basis) they are never dropped, whereas other individuals are dropped at the next bad result, even if they haven't themselves performed too badly??

This must be demoralising to the entire squad. I know I wouldn't like to be part of that, the same rules should apply to everybody. Even the players who must know they should have been dropped by now, must be embarrassed also.
Any "corridor talk" etc won't involve those players, because the undroppable ones will be the subject of such banter. This is what harbours resentment and starts to fester into bad team spirit and disunity. Are you reading this Mr Wilson?
