Frank, I understand where you're coming from but I'm not quite sure how we define what going to the dogs is.

We operate an open and fairly self moderating internet forum based loosely around Pools. The self moderation works well in the main which is the best anyone can hope for. What won't be allowed to happen is a rivalsesque destruction of the board. We don't run a closed shop nor do we vet members in advance although there have been a couple of people joining for no other reason than to cause problems. These have been quietly removed from the members list and their posts deleted. Also its worth bearing in mind that people adjust to their surroundings. Take Sussex as a prime example: an absolute pain in the arse on Rivals whereas on here his posts have been perfectly reasonable.

The strength of the board is that it is a broad church of opinion and generally all opinions are tolerated. That doesn't mean that everyone agrees with everyone else but where does moderation stop and censorship start?

From a controversial beginning the Bunker has developed into what is now the busiest message board for Pools fans. With that there are inate responsibilities for all of us and I don't just mean the admin/mods. The board is used by younger people more and more lately and in my opinion that is a very good thing, we were at risk of developing into an exclusively fortysomething club. The likes of Tom and his age group are a breath of fresh air, us old fogies can only talk about the seventies and eighties for so long before it becomes repetitive. I suspect that point happened a couple of years ago.

Some of the older names have disappeared and new ones replaced them, thats just like everyday life really. Nostalgia is great but its not as good as it used to be.

Like what the old moist bloke says. From 30 old geezers swapping the same jokes, it's gone to almost 600 now. About 200 of those are almost on a daily input.

BUT the same originators keep a reasonable eye on it. That's why it won't go tits up, although there's been lots of infighting and attempts to destroy.

This is probably one of the healthiest boards on the English football based net system, and mostly because we aren't discriminatory except about text speak and personal abuse. We're self judgemental.

So fk of Jck!!

No, certainly I'm not including those of us who are not. :sweeeet:
Trouble is, some of those who are not seem to assume that they are in with those of us who are.. Part of the problem I suppose

What about me?

I think I'm only in Chip's clique up to now and I'm the only other member of it.

Oh, and I think I'm in Aido's too.

But apart from that I feel left out.

As a well known babysitter once said: Wanna be in my gang, my gang, my gang.

You can be in my clique too if you want Rip, there's only me and the cat at the moment but its a start.
