Maybe the people who rewrite the facts to sensationalise the article are the ones who should be shot.
The judges say they "could not recommend this product to the Muslim community". But they seem to have no problem with anyone else reading it. And I don't hear any outcries from moslems saying it should be banned. I mean the story has been around long enough for them to object by now if they were going to.

Anyway, their reason for not selecting the book for award has fook all to do with piggies. They say "it failed to reach the required standard across a number of criteria. In particular, the product was not sufficiently convincing on curriculum and innovation grounds to be shortlisted."

No, you have to have artistic freedom. People who think they might be offended by art and literature shouldn't read/look at it

Nobody would be offended apart from the pretend offence taken by idiots who claim to speak on behalf of "the Asian community". But the Mail knows what its doing. By just including the word Muslim in the headline they will have sown another seed in the minds of some of the more low-watt of their readers. I bet you the next time someone in the pub is going off on one of their anti-"anyone who isn't me" rants they will include this story. "....if Muslims are so offended by Christmas why don't they 'go home'; ffs they even get offended by the three little pigs...."

Question for you Mr MadJohn...

Are you gonna be in the No Rarfs on Friday night?

Personally I wouldn't recommend bacon butties to the Moslem community but that's because I don't like them myself.

When I read this my immediate reaction was to pick you up on your dislike of the Great British Bacon Buttie, or whatever.
But I was way to late, and it's been done so much better than I could ever have hoped for. sctatchinghead rolfl

And by a supposed vegetarian!!!

Come on now man I just don't eat pigmeat full stop that's all. I have nuthin' against piggy fairy tales, even though I do tend to think the star of the story gets a bit of a harsh deal from the wolfist bastards who wrote it!

I tried going without meat for a month, and lost a stone, that might be because I knocked the alcohol on the head as well. But soon decided couldn't live without it. After all, we are carnivores. sctatchinghead

Coincedentally some tramp from the Daily Mail on Question Time last night made comments along the lines of

'we live in a world where people like to get offended on behalf of others'

Completely true, love. It's your paper that likes to sensationalise it more than others though, isn't it?!

Aye well I'm afraid the vegetarianism went the way of all things when I got here, they simply don't get it. So I have to say my treat of the day is a bacon sarnie for lunch and until yesterday, it had three big slices of cheese in it as well, but I've run out now. sadx sadx sadx

She was totally unconvincing in every way, wasn't she. Especially when she started siding with folk who become avid church-goers so as to get their kids into faith schools.

Indeed. I was impressed with Alex James; he came across as having more sense than half the panel and provided simplistic answers when the rest of them just liked to confuse matters to try and make themselves sound clever. He's on Panorama next week and it looks like interesting viewing.
