I don’t normally do this as it can be so objective, but after last night, and no-one to talk to since I have to put my thoughts down somewhere. I am not going to score players, not sure if I could in all honesty, just a little retrospect if you like. Here goes;

Lee-Barrett – I and several lads around me had questioned the previous incumbents’ ability and maybe sought a change. We got that and good-god can we go back. The Lee-Barrett fella is simply not good enough; he doesn’t even look like a footballer. He pranced around trying to look good, preening and pouting like some kind of Pete Burns tribute act, and when it cam to do anything he was clearly out of his depth. Not really at fault for the goal, but flapped like a park swan at everything in the air, gave the defence no confidence, though they didn’t help him much to be fair. I am all for Budtz from now on !!!!

Nolan – Now when this lad arrived I was all for him, he looked calm assured but now things are crumbling around him I think he is finding it really difficult. He’s a young lad and in a few years time will be quality, right now we need either Mickey Barron back or a player of that ilk. Looks to want to do it himself, maybe trusts no-one else around him.

Nelson – Shave your head for fucks sake, you don’t scare anyone anymore, strikers used to fear you, not now. Seems to have lost the presence he had…….it’s down to the hair I tell you.

Clark – Got to keep him in, he makes mistakes but makes up for them. Maybe time to try him with Antwi, whilst Nelse goes to Joe ‘fuckin Buckles. Chased well last night, but as with the rest of the defence opened the door for their lads. Keep him in, but who with, I suppose Nelse, any other options?

Elliot – Clearly finished, or just cant be arsed, lazy ‘tyre-kicker’ who probably thinks he is too good for us. Must have been given the ball on 15 occasions to cross it last night, not once did he look up, just put in that stock, last, ball that occasionally works. Think about it man, vary it, you were premiership once over, you’d not get you game in the Mill House on a Wednesday now!!!

Brown – Our one shining light. Yes he took the ball a yard further and lost it a few times, yes he shot when shouldn’t and didn’t when could. Who can blame him when all around him are playing like the blokes in Dad’s Army who never got a speaking role? Stick at it son, I’ll back you when it goes wrong.

Liddle – Quality at times but disappears when the going gets tough, some nice touches and maybe some frustration creeping in. At times our best player, but, again a kid who needs those around him to be men.

Boland – Had him down a while ago as a Widds type player, but on current form does not deserve to start. Touch of a rapist and gave the ball away more often than he kept it last night. One incident saw him wandering aimlessly around the middle of the pitch having lost it and giving up. Could’t give a feck at the moment, get rid !!

Humps – Feel for him, I kind of know how he feels, not always the best but feels the results like we do. A true Poolie who I find hard to criticise, I know its wrong of me, but it’s my rant!!!!!

Barker – Not really his fault he is getting shit off the fans, he likely knows that what he is doing isn’t good enough but he’s put there and tries. Golden opportunity in the 2nd half, should have buried it mind. We play one pattern when he’s in and it’s a pattern that doesn’t work, Blame Wilson, not Barker.

Moore – The nearly man, nearly got on the end, nearly chased it down, nearly scored. Don’t get me wrong I like the lad, and with success going on around him he will be a quality player, a few great bursts last night, set up a few chances which we could have scored from, gotta stay in the side for me.

Robson- Not sure here, was chuffed to see him come on, but gave the ball away half a dozen times, once for their goal. I kind of get the feeling that Humps likes him there though, he feels more secure going forward with Matty there than with that money grabbing ex-barcode.
It’ll go one of two ways for Matty, an upturn in fortune for us and a rune in the side alongside Humps, or Peterhead with Istead. You decide!!!!

Joel – Seen more injuries than Charlie Fairhead and I am not sure they haven’t taken their full toll on a lad that could have been a legend. The most instinctive player I’ve seen since Jan-Ove. Nearly scored with his first touch, but 15 mins, what’s that about?
Give him time to get warm, at least. Got to start instead of Barker to cut out the volleyball we are playing at the moment.

Right……….Wilson - Can someone on here please tell me what the fuck need to be written down in a notebook when you are 1-0 down with ten minutes to go, come on, tell me. No-one could last night and I am still waiting……..
I am told he is a well-respected knowledgeable manager; he also appears to be a stubborn twat too. Now I, and the other 4000 odd that where there last night have never been pro managers, and certainly not Prem managers, so I have to take it on the chin that Wilson knows more than me, see the game better than me and is capable of changing it and making decisions to influence results, after all I am a humble fan, no more no less. Am I right here, cos I along with 4000 other can see, almost to a man, where we are going wrong, are we not right, is the one man that is managing at plummeting down the league right !!!

Sorry for the tome, I needed it, this is my club Wilson, not yours, I will be here long after you have gone. Look after it, don’t break it

I think Clark and Antwi might be worth a shot at the back - after all, nothing else has worked up to now!!!!

I agree totally

For anyone wondering about last night, Bresslaw sums up the players performance perfectly.

Now im one of the more optimistic poolies on this board (just look at my previous posts). Ive defended Wilson and certain players all through the season

Now I cant find a justifiable defence

Performances like that get players sold, it was really that bad. Not only were players playing badly, but some didnt seem all that bothered about losing either. Three or four players showed their true colours last night, when things get tough they basically curl up into a ball and think about what they're going to have for tea when they get home, not how they can get us back into the game.

The only good thing about it is Wilson seems to have recognised the seriousness and promises to do something about it. If he doesnt change it, then I too see no reason to keep him at Pools.

if he is only seeing it now then it is time to go
how many defenders has he tried and still we are leaking stupid soft goals
i have to say both nelse and ben fluffed up yesterday for the first goal but the whole game was a mish mash and yet cheltenham get chance after chance from a simple lob or a ball played through to chase on
i was sick and tired of watching us hoof the ball up and watch them sprint back into our half causing all kinds of trouble
i dread to think what southend will do to us on tueday if we play like that
