The strangest Bar i have ever been in !!
last night i was in a bar in Singapore called "The clinic"
I kid you not, you sit on either a Hospital bed (proper like) or a wheel chair ! the light above the table is a proper theatre type light and your drink is via a drip (not through a needle obviousley) but a proper drip, trolley, bag, regulater everything but you stick the tube in your mouth :uhoh: .................it was chokka block and we did get really pished but i have to admit a part of me was thinking, this is a bit sick !!!
Anyone else been in strange bars !! (and the Brus dont count)

There is one that springs to mind we had been to Stockport on the train and stayed in Manchester for a night out.
There was a bar under a hotel a bit like the coble bar called The Butty Boat Bar 4 of us went in and it was my shout i ordered 4 pints and the barman/girl said we only serve halfs in a girly voice i said i'll have 8 halfs then please on turning round the bar was full of tranies all shouting hello boys come over here never been so scared in my life.

A couple of nominations from myself. Me and a mate were walking the streets of Saigon looking for a watering hole when I spotted a neon light reading 'karaoke bar' sounds promising I thought. We walked in off the street into a smart room with a red carpet with and benches either side the door we had walked through was closed behind us by a lady dressed like a lift attendant...... the 'room' started to move, we were in a lift!! When the lift stopped the other end of the room opened revealing a bar full of bikini clad prostitutes as far as the eye could see and not one of them was belting out a ropey version of "I will survive" I can tell you! We had a couple of pints though job done while we watched pissed Japanese businessmen vanish through a door with the young ladies! Karaoke Bar my foot rolfl

Number two was in Calcutta, a seedy upstairs bar full of Indian mustachioed older men paying young pretty girls to..... sing! Fooking bizarre, you told feel the sexual frustration and testosterone. What happened is a lass would belt out some Hindi tune if the bloke liked the look of her hr pulled out a wad of 50 rupee notes and passed them to the front one by one. If they give enough money they got a request and in some cases a smile! That was it, imagine what these Indian blokes would make of the karaoke bar in Vietnam?! They were literally foaming at the mouth at a 20 year old lass singing in a sari!

Also one in Bangkok that I've heard about (honestly I've never been in) were you sit on a tall bar stool with girls in a sort of trench below the bar so theirs heads are lets just say at 'groin height' lets just say without being too crude that the 'smoking ban' hasn't reached the Thai captial yet and you can infact be smoked while you drink or read the paper.

I would again like to reiterate that I have just heard about this place and honestly have never been in (honest).

The day we got relegated two seasons ago I was in the strangest place on earth.

I was as pissed as a cricket and wandered up to this place, there was a strange sort of gothy band on stage and all these well dressed middle aged people watching them. I went in the other room and a bloke with the biggest head on the planet and parmesan cheese round his chops bought me a pint and took me through the back corridors of his establishment into the room where the band were playing. As I could barely stand, I went back to the other room and a man with flaming red locks and his companion invited me to sit down. I think she was in the legal profession as she charged me for the seat.

Can't really remember much more but it was something like the New Scarfs Arms confised confised

I never visited it myself, but did any ex Hull-dwellers ever go to Nellie's bar in Beverley, run by two old ladies serving drinks in their front room, with a table for a bar?

I've never heard of it.

But if it was a cross between how you describe it and that foreign place with the trench so you could get a gum job while quaffing lager...

There's a nightclub in Berlin called Rosis Bar which is done out like a 70's show home. You can venture from kitchen to front room if you like, or up to the bedrooms.

To give you a clue...

Some of the bars in Serbia are also very weird. They have a thing for secret establishments over there - bars built into flats in tenement buildings etc. The only way you'll find out they exist is by word of mouth, very strange but a couple of them turned out to be amazingly cheap and good fun.

Not quite a 'strange' bar, along the lines of some mentioned before, but the Nutshell in Bury St Edmunds used to be one of my regular drinking spots. It was the smallest pub in England at the time, and it looks like it still is claiming that title. The 3 Steps Down in Gibraltar is another tiny pub.
