So much for Lee-Barrett being told he could go like the rumours said after Carlisle. Nice to see the change has finally been made but a little suprised to see Browny still on the bench.

Lee-Barrett
Nolan Nelse Clark Elliot
Foley Boland Lidds Humphs
Moore Barker

Sub:
Budtz, Joel, Browny, Sweens, Robson

Wonder if Brown is being wrapped in cotton wool at the request of a bidding team?

I reckon we have a good fighting chance with that squad! Let's hope Lee-Barrett does a Provett and becomes a hero from nothing!

I would have preferred Brown to start rather than be on the bench.

back to your happy old self then tree?
budtz has been of less than brilliant form of late in my opinion.
hopefully wilson will stay and you will take advantage of the advice you left for him.

I'm presuming you didn't witness Carlsile then? Or Orient when his kicking was an abomination or Leeds when he was flapping at everything. He's an awful goalkeeper. Proof that you'll just say something controversial just for effect.

No coincidence that we did better defensively than we have for months away from home.....

sorry pj, i agree with you on most things, but that is bollox. are you mr ripper in disguise ? against leeds, budtz made two great saves, and came and flapped at ONE cross, which still was cleared past the edge of the box. i have no problem with lee-barratt starting, and if he turns out to be a better keeper, FANTASTIC. The campaign against Budtz is almost embarrassing in its ferocity. The bloke has been voted man of the match, not by me, but by the Pools Lounge on three occasions this season, but all his regulation catches and good saves are forgotten in people's haste to blame our current shitty form on him.

BOLLOX. Its not Budtz who's making Antwi let the ball bounce. Its not Budtz who's making Nelson dive in to daft tackles and pass like Maldini. It's not Budtz knocking short back passes to himself.

I want Pools to play the best keeper we have, but half the charges laid against Budtz make him sound like Steve Jones, and all he is in fact is a half decent lower league keeper.

Whether Budtz deserved to be dropped or not, todays goalkeepering performance was left me feeling the safest I have all season. Took crosses well, commanded his area, quick off his line, kicking was fine and made a couple of excellent saves. Very impressed.

Budtz was gash against Carlisle. He's too dangerous and loves rushing out of the box. Thankfully his woeful 4th goal concession at Carlisle showed that he can't always pull it off, and obviously Danny has doubts.

I'm glad that Lee-Barrett started personally, from all reports it seems like it was a worthy gamble

There is no 'campaign' against Budtz, I just don't think he is very good and my faith in him has diminished with every passing game he must be a nightmare to play in front of. He fails to communicate with his back four and is totally unorthodox, he hardly ever seems to make a save with his hands!

Nelson hasn't had a good season by his own standards and Antwi at times looks like what he is (a 19 year old kid) but it's not going to make me rate Jan Budtz.
