Hillory Pillory, Sir Edmund Hillary,
Conqu'rer of Everest had an affair.
When asked why he did it,
The mountaineer answered,
Quite unhesitatingly,
"Cos she was there!"

In truth it was Tenzing Norgay's skills that enabled the conquest of Everest. Sir Edmund's main role was bringing the resources to bear. Tenzing being Nepalese was not entitled to a knighthood. It seems like it's the Sherpas' and Ghurkas' destiny never to receive the recognition they deserve.

Full credit all the same to SEH who had much more than mountaineering achievements to his name.

it's a sad fact of life that more people are interested in Paris Hilton than Sir Edmund Hillary.
We can only look on in despair.
