boydie done him twice in 5 minutes. the first time we got off with it, the second time twas a goal.

nelson took over in the second half and kept master boyd very quiet.

to be fair i suspect orient will be very happy with the point.

got a chance to have a quick chat with boydies lass after the game, and by the sounds of it they have have settled a lot better down there after his move to orient.

i'd still love to see him back in a pools shirt though.

Porter + Boyd.

Is that not better than an orgasm?

Chip are you trying to suggest Adam Boyd was any good today? He was as average as the game and would currently be our joint third top scorer.

Ian Moore (a signing you where against at the time, saying we should have signed Boyd) outplayed him and has scored as many goals so far this season. Boyd was lightweight and did nothing, he had a great chance second half but like another player who shone under Cooper (Sweeney) and has since gone seriously backwards his touch let him down.

He looked like the half fit player that returned during 2005/2006 today.

Nelson was lucky the lad was honest enough to stay on his feet had he went down he was off the ref told him as much as Orient where celebrating the goal.

i would suggest you watch orients goal tomorrow on television, because that was all adam boyd. the first touch and pass was absolute class. if opening our defence up with one touch constitutes doing nothing then fair do's you clearly havent got a clue about football.

after that nelson kept him very quiet. at no point have i suggested boyd played well today, i thought he did well first half and was poor second half.

as for your stats, i think you are letting your dislike of boyd cloud the facts. he has 8 league goals this season, the same as barker, and more than any other pools player.

'dislike of boyd' were do you get that from!? He is one of my all time favorite Pools players. My only problem with him is that it frustrates me as someone with his ability is even playing for Leyton Orient. Yesterday I thought he was a pale shadow of the player we know he can be. The reason I compared him to Moore was because of the ridiculous criticism he received earlier in the season just because he wasn't Boydie! Now people are appearing to warming to Moore that seems to have been forgotten!!

To suggest the goal was 'all Boyd' is quite ridiculous I think the lads pace and finish might have had a little bit to do with it, as did our defending! Anyway I'll shut up as compared to know we all know nothing about football

Don't forget though, another superstar mate of chipmundo is that ace footballer Stuart Brightwell................, so he is quite right to crow on about his superior knowledge of the game

you can never simply rely on stats anyway to determine how a player is doing. the " stats " once suggested jon daly was a top striker.

what do you mean, was ?

if you had to choose, chipolata, wwould you rather have barker or daly ? sctatchinghead

If Boydie had played for us like he played for Orient yesterday, the majority of posters on this board wouldn't have give him the lickings of a dog, he'd be getting slagged off like he was not too long ago for being too greedy, too lazy, too slow, too cocky, never any good at school etc etc and he would be up there with Barker, Elliott, Boland, Moore, Gibb, Humphreys, Sweeney, this is a new squad of players that is being assembled, because ufortunately all good things come to an end and we have to move on.
What's the love affair with Porter all about, he hasn't been fit for 2 years, hopefully he will regain full fitness and get back to something like his best, but sureley if he was torturing everyone in training he'd be playing, or there'd be a queue of teams waiting to sign him.
Do people really think Monkhouse wants to play for Pools or would he be happy to sign a contract for anyone that offered an extra couple of bob.
Our recent successes have been as much about togetherness, team spirit, will to win, never say die attitude as much as that of having more skillful players than the opposition, my fear is we will struggle to regain that if any new player we bring in is slagged off as soon as things don't go right. violin

Never accept things at face value eh? I just checked on Football365 and what do I find?

Barker: 7 league, 3 cup, 0 others (4 pen)
Boyd: 7 league, 3 cup, 0 others (4 pen)

Brown and Moore on the other hand are both struggling with 6 league, 3 cup, 0 others (0 pen).
