...oven dumplings or floaters on top..... I'm bi-dumpling, I'm happy with either.

It's got to be oven. Much prefer them to floaters.

You probably call it stew miss tigga. It is often called corned beef Hash but is better made with a nice bit of lamb. The meal you are talking about is corned beef and mashed potatoes I feel sure.

I'm guessing - cos I ain't no gourmet - that Hash comes from goulhash originally sctatchinghead

We've won wars on the back of school cooking adg. Good wholesome food for good working class folk. Tons better than all this stuff served on fancy plates with squiggles of sauce around it. Gravy, not sauce, is the nectar of the gods. Anyone for stuffed pigs heart - luverlee mnnnn yum yum.

First of all it is Jonny not Johnny. And for your information and amusement i do like mince, my experience tells me that the italians get the best out of it though in dishes such as lasagne....... Wouldn't you agree..?

take one used chicken carcass, boil for 6 hours. drain stock put to one side and shred remaining chicken off bones, returning meat to stock. add three large carrots (sliced),two large potatoes (sliced) and one leek (sliced) and salt pepper and a pinch of rosemary to stock and simmer for a further two hours, topping up when necessary. garnish with oven dumplings and eat til you can eat no more. :sweeeet:

I'm afraid 'used chicken' is a term you will live to regret, if bunker history is anything to go by.......

It can help with texture no doubt, but if you're not careful and you've had more than a couple of goes at it then it can make it too salty.
