gonna do a proper match report for rivals in the morning when i sober up a bit but felt the need to share my ratings for tonight's game, just because i enjoyed it so fookin much   clappp clappp clappp

budtz 9: virtually faultless. made two or three stunning saves, and one superbly timed tackle when he knew he couldn't claim the ball with his hands. collected crosses like peter cech.

humphreys 9: one of his best games for a long long time. his passing was almost without blemish and he read the game superbly. several telling headers and some excellent tackling. well done, son

nelson 9: ditto. seemed to have shrugged off his cack performances of recent weeks/months. up against a fookin monster in zola, but won the bulk of the challenges, AND PASSED THE BALL !!! clappp clappp

antwi 9: without doubt his best game for pools. how people can have a go mystifies me. read the game and won several headers by just being there quicker. deffo candidate for MOM.

nolan 9: class above. utterly faultless performance for a young kid. i'm only not giving him 10 cos we've not got a chance of getting him full time.

brown 10: brilliant. added 250k to his value, even tho he hardly saw the ball in the second half. scared the shite out of them, threw his weight about a bit and tracked back. clinical finish for the second and deserved more goals. superb.

liddle 9: the performance we've been waiting for. strong, composed, but drove us forward whenever possible. fantastic goal. more, please gary.

sweeney 9: another player producing his best performance of the season. full of running and determined all game. solid in the middle and gave us a completely new dimension. excellent tony clappp

monkhouse 10: thank fook he's back. showed his full value to the team. always looking to attack, great in the air, and a massive massive threat going forward. we look a different side with him there.

moore 9: absolutely tireless. never stopped, positive all game and showed great invention when taking tranmere on. must be delighted to get one over on the old feller. linked up really well with joel, and needs to play there more often. well done ian.

porter 9: excellent performance. looked a class above in terms of close controlo and link-up play. we looked a threat up front all night, and he fully deserved his goal. keep it going skippy :sweeeet:

SUBS :

Foley 8: looked lively and knocked in one superb ball for barker. great player to come on and take the game to a tiring defence.

barker 8: worked hard to retain the ball for the last few minutes. won every header cos he was fresh, and possibly should have had a goal.

THE VERDICT :

A performance that we all hoped for but didn't expect. I think some credit to Danny for finally picking the team that causes most problems. he was more animated than we've seen him for a while, and had definitely got them playing to a plan. we pressed the ball superbly, and scored three very very good goals. let's hope its the start of the upturn, and we can forget some of the dross we've been served up. well done lads.

Ben Clark was almost in raptures about Nolan. In fact Ben Clark was in raptures nearly all match!
