At last a balanced side that played on the floor, even in the gale.

Superb performances from Brown, Monkhouse, Moore, Porter and Humphreys.

Great as well from Sweeney, Liddle and Nolan.

I still think we looked dodgy at the back.......some great saves from Budtz, but will he fook come off his line, and he was beaten too easily for the goal.

But hey............who's complaining?

I didn't think we looked dodgy at the back, they were just a good attacking side. Clark for Antwi is the only change I would make to that XI

The move of the match/season was the acrobatic save from Brownie which started with Antwi in the very corner of our half. Fantastic football that deserved a goal.

Moore was obviously motivated more than usual for this one but he looked so much happier receiving the ball knowing Joel would be making a run for him compared to having Barker stood still waiting for the ball to his feet.

That was the best I've seen from Moore in the first 45 minutes today and a shame he didn't notch as it would have capped off a great night for him.

I've always been one for playing Moore out wide with Brownie upfront but Wilson proved me wrong tonight.

Absolutely superb tonight, as Chip says those little triangles between Moore, Porter and Brown had their players dizzy.

As you have probably gathered, I'm a huge fan of Ian Moore and he was awesome tonight. Brown is WAY too good for this division, and Porter...well, just fantastic.

Unsung hero tonight? Godwin Antwi. Best game for Pools by a stretch.

I've had a funny old day today with one thing and another, but tonights performance made me, once again, Proud To Be A Poolie.

Roll on Saturday. clappp

Wish I had been able to be there now

Thanks for the texts Phil, much appreciated - If you hadn't heard James "operation" was succesful - or so management was told

if you have the best playing surface in the league pick players who can pass the ball. we looked like promotion contenders tonight.

as mr tax rightly says that move was unbelievable and browns run/porters pass at the end of it deserved a goal.

the best thing about moore/brown/porter is that at times we looked like we were playing with 3 up front they put in so much effort, particularly moore who was superb.

we had a few shaky moments at the back but i always felt that no matter how many tranmere scored tonight we would have scored more.

a fab game between two attack minded sides.

Even though Antwi had a good game I still feel a lot of the defence's shakiness would be resolved with Clarky there as he gives you natural stability.

Can't agree enough with you about Nolan Mr Fireball, he was outstanding. He also has a Sweeney-esque engine, there was one point mid way through the second half when he made a burst forward and was brought down about 30 yards or so away from the Trannies goal, the ref give nowt, but next thing you know here he is back in his right back spot taking the ball from their winger. He wasn't afraid to get forward and help out Browny which sometimes took the doubling up away.

I hope that we can keep him much longer

lets just hope the manager leaves the side as it is for a bit and resists the temptation to pish about with it.

assuming wilson is picking the side. word on the street is that the chairman picked tonights team.

I don't care if the T lady picked the team, we got it right tonight and hopefully we can now go on another Accrington stanley type run and get through the Christmas/new year period with a mit full of points. clappp
