Im gettin a bit fed up of hearin how last nights defeat is OK because Swansea are the divisions best side.
A depressed and depressing Hartlepool held them for over 80 minutes comfortably by all accounts.
Maybe if we decided to have some drive & ambition we would win games like last night.
We have a good set of players, its about time we started behaving like a good team.
Feck Swansea,Leeds,Forest, none of em are superior to us,they are all league 1 teams so lets go beat them.

They are only 'superior' in the sense they average x3 our average crowd, so that along with the wage cap, could, ONLY could give them a slight advantage

Just a thought like

No-one is saying last nights result is OK. No-one.

However, I am prepared to give the players slack for last night's result because of the value of the Swansea squad. Other recent results have been cr*p and we should be doing better but last nights was forgiveable.

It sounds like we did everything but score and a superb goalkeeping performance stopped us from winning, there's only so much you can do you know.

I was there last night and Swansea totally outplayed us in the passing game. Thankfully Sunderland couldn't hit a barn door in front of goal and we were very unlucky with our attempts against the crossbar. A draw would have been a fair result
i think he meant scotland and not sunderland.

the gist of what he is saying is that we had 3 shots at goal in 90 minutes, two as a result of great individual play.

however we still cant pass the ball.

and that swansea can.

and that probably we deserved a draw for defending very well. as did bristol rovers when they lost 1-0 at our place. because sometimes this happens in football.

he didnt say that if adam boyd was playing for us we would be top 6. i just made that last bit up.
Would this still be the case chip if we were playing our current long ball game confised just a thought.

That is what happens though Dibble when you don't have a player willing to make a break forward from midfield.

Playing McCunnie, Boland or Liddle as the two central midfielders is what leads to us playing sideways cos the forwards are marked and there is nobody making a run.

That is why Sweeney is so important to have in the central midfield cos he gives us that other option of a pass forwards.

Duffy never played with Barker so it is assumption that he could play off him.

I still reckon that midfield runners are essential for a passing side cos without the movement you won't open a side up from pretty passing.

Having Sweeney and Monkhouse in the team gives us so many more options than we have when they are missing regardless of who is playing up front.

There has been many occasions this season where the ball has been hoofed to Barker only one i cant remember were possibly leeds and orient where we generally passed it about most of the game. If the passing game isnt working then it gets hoofed to Barker, of late though RB seems to be holed in midfield defending as hes not quick enough to get forward. All our success has been made through fast attacking football (as chip has said many times before) our current forward line could not play this way.

So what you're actually saying there, is that if plan A isn't working we go to plan B??

I thought we were one dimensional??

Then again I don't go so I wouldn't know.......
