Both were little blokes with little bloke syndrome who couldn't admit they'd made a mistake either.

The fact that Wilson says that he is happy with losing should be enough to concern most right minded folk.

Half an hour ago the headline was "Wilson happy despite defeat".

Now that it's slipped to second story down the page they've removed that.

But you're slagging him off for something he hasn't actually done, I'll criticise him when he's done something wrong but in the interest of fairness I'm not going to make something up and then slag him off for it. That just wouldn't be on, would it Mr R?

It was there clear as day on the official tinterweb site.

It wasn't a direct quote, but it was a summary from the guy who'd interviewed him.

There are some similarities but there is no way I feel the same as I did that year. I was convinced we were going down from September, in fact Snowy, Parmo and myself were the only ones saying it. If you remember I refused to enter the ground again while Scott was in charge and didn't.

Wilson has never actually said he is happy. Someone else has said he is happy with the performance.

You said 'Wilson says that he is happy with losing'. Which is utter bollox.

Christ.

Feck off Dibble.

As you well know he is saying that we played much better but lost. That is a world away from saying 'I am happy to lose'

The official site, after interviewing Wilson, paraphrased him and said that he was happy even though we lost.

Are you best mates with the guy who wrote it and trying to cover up what was said?

OK, let's correct my earlier statement and say that in my opinion (which in no way reflects that of everybody else associated with this messageboard and certainly has no direct input from Hartlepool United FC or their thoughts) it is a shi'ite state of affairs when there is a headline on the official club messageboard written by a club employee who has just interviewed Danny Wilson which reads in big bold letters "Danny Wilson happy with performance despite defeat", which in my book translates into plain English as meaning the manager is happy even though we lost.

I don't want a manager who is even remotely happy when we lose.

I want him to be pissed about it.

Well pissed in fact.

Otherwise the players may start thinking it doesn't matter if they win or not, cos the boss is only concerned about putting up a good show.

Christ.

He sounded pissed off in the quotes I read. Thats my problem though, I click on these articles instead of just reading a six word summary and making my own translations from that.

Off to work, it's been fun.

The written word can easily be taken in the context as to which the readers own mind influences it to be.

The apologists will read into it that everybody tried hard and we were unlucky.

The realists could read into it that it's just more patter on the back of another defeat.

I dont think anyone is particularly happy to lose to Swansea

Just seems Mr R is taking a quote from some interview guy/journalist and making out that Wilson is happy losing, which I doubt very much

The good thing about Wilson is he doesn't go kicking off blaming people who are not to blame and end up getting a smack in the mouth for it (Mr Scott)

It appears to me many Pools fans have a different opinion to Wilson, nothing wrong with that. However based on whatever criteria be it training, fitness or a positive mental attitude Wilson believes he is picking his best team and I do think he has the right to be frustrated by not having 'a rub of the green'

Take last season for example. We were very, very unlucky in the first half of the season. Decisions not going away, teams coming to the vic shutting us out and nicking a goal, missing something like 5 out of our first 6 penalties costing us many points (hello and thank you Mr Barker). Last night I was in the chatroom, and twice in the second half I recall people saying we hit the bar, Brown and Sweeney I think?

Now let me tell you, it would be completely different story had each of those goals went in. A little bit of luck and we win the game. As it was we lost, got 0 points and need to move on. Que Wilson's calm and intelligent demeaner who I believe will prepare his players in the correct way and win the match on Saturday - fingers crossed we get a big prem team and life is good again.

By the way, getting to play a (WOW) Premiership team in the cup and being relegated wasn't really what I would have down as being a good season to be honest- it certainly wouldn't make me dead chuffed about how the season panned out.

Looking at the swansea performance we don't need to be worried about going down. we might have to put up with an average finish, this is what consolidation feels like.
Chip is right to worry about the strikers though, richie barker got the sh1te kicked out of him last night and he was brilliant in taking it,but you never got the feeling a spark was coming from the front but hey we could of spent 150k on duffy and been worse off cos he's a lazy sod judging on last night.
sweeney was excellent and JB could be anything he wants to be.

i can understand wilsom moving brown to the wing last season. he wasnt ready physically to play the centre forward role against brick shiit houses. i think he is ready for it now.

folk keep going on about brownie tiring in games but thats primarily as as result of having to do a lot of midfield donkey work tracking plaers back to the edge of his own penalty box. stick him up front and you take that workload away from him and leave him to concentrate on attacking.

a forward line of porter and brown would pose opposition defenders a different range of problems.

thats not to say there wont be times when the bulk and workrate of barker isnt needed. i just feel we need to offer more than one threat as we are doing at present.

That's all well & good Chip - but to be a good centre forward Brown has to actually SHOOT - I have lost count of the times he has run across the 18 yard line failed to shoot & then laid the ball off to the wing
