Answer me a question will you.

When playing the banjo, is it mostly played with or without a plectrum?

A mate of mine left a banjo on the back seat when he parked his car in the middle of Liverpool. When he got back someone had broken the back window and thown another one in.

I'd guess at finger picking, but wouldn't rule a plec out as such, its probably a real sticking point between some traditionalists and the modern banjo types I reckon....banjo's..... nearly as bad as drums , no place for them in a folk environment, ugh!I'm orf....frigging no hopers, I'm just not going to listen to it certainly not going to clap, its an outrage

There's actually something called a plectrum banjo, innit? which is presumably played with a plectrum. As opposed to banjos that aren't plectrum banjos. Presumably

Actually, I don't understand the question, tho it's been a bit of fun answering it.
Why is Mr I asking Mr Gremmlin about banjoes? Is it a subtle dig of some kind

george formby couldn't play either the banjo or uke!, i know!
he had a differant one tuned up for each song he played and just strummed it.......

That's ok if a song only had one chord although he could use one finger as a bar I suppose and play it like a slide guitar. Alternatively he could have had a double-necked banjo or ukulele that would have looked quite rock and roll.
