The other night the defence and the midfield were awful.

The defence is understandable cos not a single one of them would have been first choice if it wasn't for injuries.

THe midfield was just shocking. I'd get rid of Lampard and Gerrard and play Cole and Hargreaves in the middle. Cole is good but isn't a left winger and could give us that bit of quality we've lacked in the middle since Gazza.
