Pools failed to mention that you had to buy the tickets in advance. Everyone had to pay on the night. I was annoyed at that.

If the club had half an ounce of decency they would realise it was their error and refund anybody with a kids ticket stub from tonight.

But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Even then you'd have to pity the folk who got ripped off lining the pockets of the turnstile operators on the Millhouse Terrace gates who claimed to have run out of tickets when my mate came in at nearly quarter past two minutes behind me even though they had a huge bundle of them when I paid in.

Ripper, if that's true get an email sent in to the club, better still stick a letter in for the attention of Mr Hodcroft.

It's bad enough losing £10 to Pools after a shite performance, it's a disgrace if somebody is using your £10 to go and get lashed on Friday night (aka turnstile operators, not players!).

He reckons he is gonna get on to them today to complain.

Last night when he asked for a ticket he was given the option of "like it or lump it, it's up to you whether you wanna get in or not".

With a bit of luck somebody from the club might see mention of it on here too.

I have emailed the club over the free kids issue. Am awaiting a reply. banghead
At first i thought i was getting ripped off by the turnstyle operator.
But having read the above now know it was across the board.
I have checked on the website and it does not state that you have to buy your tickets in advance. The mail did not publish that you had to buy in advance.
It was only when you got to the turnstyles that you had to buy in advance.
refred
I hope the clubs now issues a statement regarding this issue and refunds anyone who has the stubs the £5 they paid on the night back.
I very much doubt it

Aye Paul, but what would have happened if you, or anybody else, didn't have enough cash on them to pay the kids in?

How disappointed would the bairns have been if their dad had turned up at the gate with just a tenner in his pocket cos he'd been told that's all he needed?

Very poor organisation indeed.

Copied & pasted from Pools own site, the get out clause is that they never said anything about turnstile prices, only ticket prices.

It's hardly clear is it.

And it certainly doesn't say that you must buy in advance to get the deal, that to me is the clincher.

Trading Standards would murder them if somebody reported it.

It's ambiguous, granted, but I don't think IOR would have to answer a case with the trading standards

I have also e-mailed the club in disgust. The fact that quite a few of us have been caught at the turnstiles shows that their website wording is open to misinterpretation

I would go as far as to say it is blatantly misleading.

Have just received the bog standard reply of "We are in receipt of your recent email regarding the above.
Please be advised we will investigate this matter and advise you of our findings within 10 days, as per the timescales set out in our Customer Charter.

As Ripper said I was lucky i had extra money with me. But what they got off me on the gate they lost off me on the beer and catering cabins.

Take into account how poor we were second half and how wet i got it was a totally
shite night.

Fair enough that they will aim to reply within 10 days if that is what their Charter says, but it's not rocket science what happened and it's disgraceful if they can't give an answer by 5pm today.

I've just received the same reply. To be honest I would have been happy with a simple apology and assurances that it wouldn't happen again but Pools admin being what it is has to issue a daft reply like this.

Fair play if that's the way that the club wanna be.

Like I said earlier, if they have any decency or balls they'll admit that they made a mistake on the website by not specifying having to purchase in advance and then apologise and offer some kind of refund.

If they don't then in my opinion they're a pack of robbing bastads and in future I'll stay in the pub til right on kick off time so as not to purchase their over priced pre match beverages.

It's £2 a pint, served in plastic glasses in the freezing cold.

Plenty of places serve it cheaper and offer you somewhere warm to drink it from a proper glass.

I thought it was still 1.80 a pint, shows how often I go to the bar.

I still wouldn't say that's over price (despite it being a 33% increase in about 2 years) but I accept you're not in the best of moods today. rolfl

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, loads of work to do and severly unimpressed with the bastads last night.

Nice to see the club admitting they made an error and a good gesture to give a free ticket for Sunday (I'm sure they would still have done that had it not been televised).
