Grimsby have just signed him on loan, from Stevenage. I thought he was always a useful goalscorer at League One level (Bristol C, Luton, QPR) and although he may not be as quick these days, he will be a real goal threat for them. I was feeling confident to the point of smugness about our prospects tonight, but I have a horrible feeling Thorpe might cause us problems. We'll have to go for it again and hope we still have our shooting boots on.

I think it's a lot to ask for a player to knit into a team six hours after signing!

Don't worry. There's probably an eligibility delay.
