congrats to Mr Mutley for starting possibly the most contentious thread ever on the Bunker!!!
I have to say, having trawled through it, it contained all the best aspects of what I like about this board: reasoned debate, eloquently-put points of view, abuse, piss-taking, thread diversion, multiple conversations, personal exchanges, and the attempts at brokering peace to avoid any possibility of losing one or more posters from the board in future - because that would be tragic.

My own opinion on all of it is the ultimate one - in 100 years nobody will give a fuck or even know about anything any of you said!!!!

my point being- - in 100 years we'll all be brown bread, so what does it matter what anyone else thinks about one's own opinion in the meantime??
For what it's worth, if someone fundamentally disagrees with me on an issue, I'll just let it ride generally because basically I can't be arsed to argue the toss on internet message boards about such things!!
I prefer to sit down and talk, rather than type!!!

Mick

I was expressing my opinion and then a couple attempted to slaughter me for it - I attempted to kill the thread VERY early on by referring to sunrises etc but the grief continued and therefore I rejoined the 'debate' - I will more than happy take this up with the people in real life when they are away from the board and the rest of the

'bunker bullies'

Image

I even got a PM off someone asking me not to continue in the thread as he believed it may have been upsetting his mate - ffs

i have also avoided the shambles that the thread has turned into as well - what was well opinionated by some then turned into a thread of stupidity.

For what it's worth, if someone fundamentally disagrees with me on an issue, I normally just let it ride generally because basically I can't be arsed to argue the toss on internet message boards about such things - however - think of kenny rogers and coward of the county - sort of - sometimes you have to express your opinion and so on....yada yada yada :sweeeet:

Suppose that's true, but using that logic you wouldn't ever post anything at all. In fact you wouldn't eat or drink or get out of bed or even bother being born  Why are we all here, eh? What's it all for?
And why have you brought no presents home from Egypt?

ermm..people have opinions and can be passionate about them, without being offensive.
If I take offence to something or fundamentally believe in something then I hope I would say it in the right manner.
If other people dont want to then thats up to them. Personally I probably wont meet most people on here in person and am less likely to in the future considering the way my personal and work life is going. I thought that was one of the benefits of the internet, being able to converse with people all over the shop.
I presume its ok to disagree about football? Well to me, some things are more important than football.

the thread was started tongue in cheek by mutly
i took exception to some one bragging as boys do about the amount of stuff he had used on a public forum
then it escalated into inults because i was not qualified
then it escalated into personal inults which i can take from mates but not from strangers
the only one that posted any sense on the subject was british west hartlepool who was then quoted to
to back up some one elses argument
end of :sweeeet:

I dont think the thread was started tongue in cheek

I have re-read the thread again and every comment of mine holds water and is very well put. I didnt need to qoute the comments made by BWH to quantify my opinions - and I had posted little on the thread until you started your braggard taunts.

I ain't going to be intimdated by the bunker bully tactics of the clique and not speak my opinion - you left several others who proclaimed the benefits of the subject matter alone but rounded on me - i responded.

Describing your posts as embarrassing and tedious - that aint an insult - it was my opinion. If I want to tone it up a bit though I will - again see above.

And i knew you would just have to have a go and reply - shot your opinion in - and no doubt you will to this as well...........................

HOWEVER - it's nearly sunset time which happens nicely out the back of my house.......
