Mike summarised from a Friend
Some of you may have seen my posts earlier saying what a good friend Mike was to me, especially when we were both growing up together and at school.
Mike was one of the nicest guys I think i'll ever meet, he was caring, considerate and down to earth. I say down to earth as he got into the Hartlepool FC School of Excellence when we were in school, yet he didn't go around bragging about it to everyone at school, he kept it to himself and we only found out about it through a teacher at first. This was also the case when Mike had trials WITH ENGLAND under 15's/16's i believe .. He didn't go around telling everyone about it, or anyone for that matter - again, we found out after one of our teachers read it out in assembly!
I went to a different college to Mike and then I went to University, so i lost touch with him a bit and hadn't spoke to him in awhile but he still messaged me a couple of weeks ago to say Happy 21st Birthday to me and see how I was doing.
I just wanted everyone to know this as he was a thoughtful, caring and funny guy to know .. not someone who had no time for anyone, was focused completely on football and thought he was better than everyone else - He'll be missed by everyone who knew him, and even those who only knew him from afar, and my thoughts are certainly with his family right now

RIP Mike - A loss to his family, friends, football and society

Just read this and thought it was an excellent idea

Quote:
We all now know that a minutes tribute will be paid for Michael. Lets all stay silent for the minute and once the silence is broken by the referee's whistle, lets have the full Vic sing a chorus of there's only one MIchael MAidens. lets give the little feller a send off both him and his family deserve and show them exactly what he meant to this club and supporters
