Vinyl wasn't a patch on cds. I don't want to hear crackles, have the needle jumping or have to try and drop the needle into the right "smooth bit" to pick out which track I want to listen to.

Tapes were even worse. :evil:

I agree about tapes being crap but I liked the raw sound you got with vinyl. A single or album sleeve is better than a CD case as well.

Maybe I've gotten used to "bright, tinny and processed"?

But the sound from vinyl is only one aspect- the drawbacks that go with it aren't great.

And how would you manage not to scratch a record in your car player?
