I don't know where all the folkies have gone in Hartlepool. Used to know everyone who went to the folk club there, at least by sight, but last time I went to a folk gig at the Studio I didn't recognise a single person.

Anyway, glad it went well on Sat

How many folk singers does it take to change a light bulb?

Five, one to change the bulb and four to sing about how great the old one was.

I remember the good old days.
Those days that were both good and old.
Things that were better previously.
Things that were better before.

We ate fish such as herring and codling
and kippers or trout for our tea.
And we sang as we troughed our pescados,
back then things were better for me.

Well I am flattered to think that it was I who persuaded Elvis that life is a little complicated after all. And without even trying. rolfl

Why only last week he saw no humour at all in Louise's comments about other people's choice of topic and thought it simple to ignore posts he wasn't interested in. Now he is creased up like a folk concertina.

So, it's well done to him......one day he may deserve the status of moderator, like

Not that one, duck.
'Out of Yarmouth harbour I was faring
as a cabin boy on a fishing vessel
hunting for the shoals of herring'

That one. Ewan MacColl, I think
