Misplaced arrogance Frank, doesn't help your cause. It makes you come across that you think you are somehow better than everyone else and I can guarantee you, you are no better and no worse.

With regards to DFA not allowing any of its officials to officiate during June, and me going along with it. Of course I would have to go along with it, I am a DFA referee I would have no say in the matter June is close season. get it .. IT IS CLOSE SEASON that is to say NO FOOTBALL as far as DFA goes. It is easy to understand is it not?

It is easy to understand Frank. However, as UEFA are happy to have games in June, nobody could understand the harm in why couldn't Durham FA bend the rules for a charity game when even the ref was willing? As I said Frank, example of you being a sheep too. You didn't just put the Durham FA stance across, you defended it like someone had insulted family and called people idiots for questioning an unreasonable inflexibility. And as for calling people who were trying to raise money for a disabled lad idiots...

You have absolutely no right to try and take the moral high ground over anybody.

I’ve had to read this thread post by post to see how it’s escalated into the farce it is.

So all this bickering started when someone said he played well yesterday but didn’t play well against Carlisle?

People have opinions… it’s a way of life, I’m always cautious of criticising players as I’m all too aware that the players read these message boards. But I’m not afraid to say where players went wrong; in fact I want the players to read some constructive criticism as it tells them where they can improve. Needless to say I also like to praise players and stand up for them. It’s a message board after all

This is not rivals and I frankly feel sorry for any player that ventures onto rivals and reads some of witch hunts and over the top comments that go on there, such as the “Joel Porter is past it” comment, which really annoy me.

I feel on here that we can all act in a civilised manner and that the critique on here is mostly fair. People express their opinions, a lot of the time I don’t agree with theirs and I tell them so, it’s the way the board works.

On Read and Write, Mr. Read you said that “Joel went down like the clown at the circus”. I’m sure me and Chip didn’t agree with that critique but that was your opinion and your role in those podcasts is to express an opinion, as is Mick Gannon’s job. In your last instalment you criticised our defence and you’ve also criticised Butdz in some other segments. You were completely correct to do that in my mind and there’s nothing wrong with what you did. Nor is there anything wrong with people saying that Humphreys had a below standard game against Carlisle…

So can we draw a line with this and debate the opinion rather than the contributor.

Anyway back to the subject…I love Humphreys me. He was tremendous yesterday.

Well said Daniel, I also fail to see where this all started.

Personally there is no where near as much criticism of Humphreys on here as on rivals and when there is its from people who can also say he played well in other games. If there was a witch hunt then I and others would be incapable of saying he played brilliantly.

DFA tell US when we can referee .. enough said...

You know me so you can have an opinion on me. sorry you have no idea about me, you think you do... .. do I know you?, who are you? how old are you? are you man or woman? boy or girl? old or young?

If you have something to say about anyone good or bad then stand up and say it don't hide... what I cant ever understand is the fact that you are saying all this stuff (good or bad) but you are hiding why?

How the heck can you expect anyone to take what you say if they have no idea who you are? I ask you again why hide who you are? please explain it to me, please.

The point I am trying to make is if I knew who you are or anything about you (for that I would need to know you), then I could say ... well perhaps he has a point after all he has been a supporter for x years, or he is a former player who knows what he is talking about, or anything about you that I could hang my understanding of you on.. as it is just now all I know about you is that you are a Tree or what ever you think you are... so you as a person have nothing (please don't say that I think you are worthless of course you are, as a tree the dogs can pee against you)

Anyway I have said enough for today and tomorrow is a new day so lets be friends and save a tree for the sake of our planet .. nite noite mate..

yes he did have a good game.. and if he did not then I would say so... and he would know it was me who was saying it and not someone who is hiding their identity.....

as you have pointed out enough is enough.. today this board became closer to Rivals.. and yes I have been one of those today who helped it along that rather sad road...

I think I will start a new clean and fair message board ... perhaps not .. hmmmmm

Getting back to my point - you're lucky to have RH, and maybe performances can be judged differently depending on where you view them from. Only my opinion, but from the away end at VP (against Carlisle) he had a solid game and was a major contributor in the latter stages of that game which led to you getting a (deserved) point.

Best regards

Shane

Frank i kinda get what your on about now but Its not a plausable idea. What your saying is that no one on a message board should have aright to privacy in effect. Not everyone wants their identity to be known on the internet for a variety of reasons, im sure you can understand that?

Regarding knowing peoples background before deciding how valuable their opinion is, I agree, if Chip talks about strategic moves and knee injuries then I know its a worthwhile opinion because he has been injured at a very high level for instance! rolfl I post my opinions because its my right, how valid people find them-i couldnt care less.

Were all allowed a right to privacy for whatever reason and if you can really envisage a message board where everyone is honest about their names, age, job, experience, time supporting club etc then your living in cloud cuckoo land.

This thread is doing my head in so off to bed too. Hopefully it can be locked and never replied to again! rolfl

Frank Reid - So next time Pools play cack at home you want us all to go in the vc lounge to tell the players how shite they have been, I'm sure they'll all love that. Also if we win our next home games 4-0 I'm sure the players will apreciate us all interupting their celebrations to do a bit of arse kissing..

A mesageboard is a place for discussion and debate, as far as I am aware Mr I has no rules preventing players from registering and engaging in debate. There's no need to be so over protective of your chums......

Although I appreciate I'm putting myself in danger of having to invade the pitch to produce my passport and introduce myself to Mr Reid I think I'd like to pass comment on one or two of his key arguments.
How can it be difficult to understand that the whole point of online message boards is the chance to remain anonymous while putting forward a point of view? It means you can exagerrate, make sad attempts at humour and also have vitriolic rants without worrying about the repercussions- that means it all makes better reading. Obviously some people are happy to be identified but I generally enjoy the stuff from poolies with silly names best.

Can I also add that if I was a player I'd be well happy to string along members of the local press into believing we were big mates, it is very hard to criticise a mate in print. Ritchie might think Frank is a pompous, fifth rate official with a dirty lens and delusions of grandeur but he probably wouldn't tell him that. Of course they might also be really genuinely close and Frank may be privvy to the deepest and darkest, innermost secrets of the Vic. If this is the case then everybody should settle down and not argue once he has revealed his wisdom.

Well I'm not going to be the one to lock the thread. You either takes it or you leaves it. If anyone made it past page two of the thread I say bravo for their stamina. Anyone who chooses to bore himself silly by reading through all six pages must really have a sad life.

Yes I have a sad life too but as a mod I try to do what I can *shrug*

Frank, for someone who makes his living by working for a newspaper thats a very odd statement. People on messageboards post fact, non-facts, opinions, hearsay and downright lies. Just like a newspaper then.

If I follow your logic I should take no notice of anything written for any paper unless I know the hack personally?

You might have a point

I've avoided this thread as after the first few posts i got bored with it but just read it to check out its legs.

It was no surprise for me to see the poster by the name of frank reid standing up for ritchie as he has of course been a good servant to the club over the years, he may also be an accquaintance of said player and is/was certainly keen on taking his photo.

However, there has truly been a lot of tosh said by a lot of parties on this thread.

Although a lot of people use a pseudonym on the board the majority of people know each other I would guess, when looking at the who have you met thread - me those who know me know me those who dont dont, even if using my or katcha it aint gonna stop me from saying what i want to say about who - player or poster.

Yep Mr Gemmlin.

In my view Ritchie Humphreys was quality against Bristol and that's why he got my vote for MOTM. He's been good in some other games too and a weak link on other occassions.

But he's still the best left back currently available to us and he ticks the boxes with regards to being a player who puts the effort in every game he plays rather than turning up and strolling about.

so really what you are saying is that unless we all meet up in a big room and introduce ourselves this whole message board stuff is meaningless, it has no point, and we all may as well give up.
