What dressing room mafia? I don't think I've ever heard (or used) that phrase before.

The players are playing shit. No commitment, no fighting spirit, no interest. They need a kick up the arse. They can't even pass, at least they couldn't yesterday

And the only man who can do anything about that is......

Danny Wilson.

2 games spring to mind for me personally...the 1-4 defeat to QPR and the 1-3 defeat to Plymouth in the 03-04 season...in both games Pools played out of their skin, but ultimately were way outclassed by 2 far better teams,i cant remember anyone booing at those games...infact i can recall Plymouth getting applauded off the pitch for the reason that they were by far the better team and they were champions.

Yesterday was totally different....Shrewsbury were crap,5 attempts on goal, timewasting, long ball and general Lge 2 huff and puff...we had 16 attempts on goal  rage and still couldnt pull the trigger....at the end of the day we have no heart,no fight and no clue what to do when we get to the edge of the box :? :? :? :?

And its been like that under 3 managers(Scotty,Stepho and Wilson)and counting.

And the reality is, he is not going to be sacked - certainly not yet. He'll be given at least until February if not longer. And all managers should be given time to build their own teams, learn about their players etc. Hopefully he will learn from those daft substitutions, on how they weakend both the defence and the left side.
But he isnt going to be sacked soon. Accept it and support the side. Rollock the players if they are not trying but if they are - then support and encourage them on the field.
Cries of Wilson Out will only deepen the gloom and discourage the players. Mr I is right. This is knee jerk. I was as disappointed as anybody but a win on Saturday - and we were pretty unlucky not to score at times during the first half - and we would have had ten points from twelve and everyone would have been going on about our push for at least the play offs.
You are victims of todays society. You want everything in an instant and are not prepared to wait and work for it. Wilson may not be good enough but nine games is not enought to judge.

not having that, i certainly aint someone who wants it right now, but you can just tell this aint working out now, and iy aint gonna get better.

surely if this is identified by us non experts now, then why cant the club

its better to accept the mistake and cut our losses whilst theres time to save the season, imo

of course i'll eat humble pie of it is knee jerk, but i really fear it isnt

I've just had six borrles of brown and that was still just a noise

18 months of cack and wilson gets six weeks to to turn it round
get your badly puncutated arse of the pot

The players HAVE to take some blame, Robson has been a pro for five years now, but for the third goal he might as well of been sat in my front room and if he cant do it now, he never will.

OK, perspective time.

First of all you don't sack a manager after one disastrous game. And you don't write a team off after one disastrous game either.
If we did that, Cooper would have got the push in his first season when Blackpool stuffed us 4-0 despite being nowt special.
After that game words like "abject surrender" were being bandied about. But it turned out to be a false alarm and the same players soon turned it round.

If Saturday had been on the back of some dire perfomances like the Blackpool fiasco last season (why always Blackpool?), that would certainly be more worrying. But no one has criticised the players or a lack of effort in the previous three games prior to that so they must have been doing something right, right?

Give Wilson a third of a season and then you've got something substantial to judge him on. That's another six league games, which leaves two thirds of a season to dig us out of the shite if he gets it wrong big time.

Remember this? http://www.hartlepoolutd-mad.co.uk/foot ... teamno=270

No, that was August. September he was already injured.

If Wilson would just come out and explain in plain english why he wont pick Joel Porter and his real reason for dumping Humphreys I will lay off him.

He has explained about Porter.
Last Saturday he kept a winning team with the same game plan of bringing Porter on for the last half hour. How many times have we criticised managers for tinkering with winning teams?
I'll grant you his substitution plan was really weird though.

But why should anyone want YOU to lay off Wilson? There can't be a debate without two sides, and since we're 18th in the bottom division there clearly needs to be a debate!
But someone needs to keep things in perspective too.

I know the substitutions looked shiite on Saturday, but for the previous 2 home games they worked! How many times in a season does a sub score the winning goal, we did it twice in a row!!! You can't expect Wilson to get it right 100% of the time, or maybe we can by judging by the posts on here? I've heard a rumour that Clark was injured, and if that was true, what else was he supposed to do? Could have put Mickey Barron centre of defence, and what would of the outcry been if that had failed? If we are gonna get on a managers back after 9 games we are fooked. We are supposed to be supporters aren't we?

Don't get me wrong I was well fed up Saturday, but we've got to put this is perspective and give Wilson a bit of time. IMO if we hound Wilson out we will find it really difficult to find a decent replacement and WE WILL end up in the CONFERENCE.

Professional footballers getting paid as much as they do should know the BASICS though. Passing is basic. Some were slicing it. Nor does a manager tell them NOT to commit to a ball - you do it anyway, and don't give away stupid passes. Training can improve them but they should know the basics given the training they've had in the past; you don't just forget

when are they going to work on the set pieces in training then? christmas week? easter bank holiday? never? shrewsburys were good, free kicks and corners varied, some whipped in some long to the back stick. their players actually seemed to know what kind of delivery was expected and accordingly got on the end of them. we get a corner and yr sitting there thinking i fookin hope the opposition dont score on the break. again.

Now I am no football master but I don't think its rocket science to tell every free kick on the penalty spot for the bigger players to then head towards goal. Any closer to the goal than that and the keeper will get it, any further away and it'll be cleared.

And what about that free kick in the first half from 30ish yards out, that was embarrasing.
