its a case of comparing phillips to what he was replaced with. an adequate 12th finish when everything was taken into consideration. where would we have actually finished if sarll had been allowed to do his worst. possibly very close to where fylde are now.

Results are everything when judging managers and with the shite he was left with Philips was boss for 16 games losing only 4 and with a win ratio of 43%, way better than anyone else in recent history barring Challinor with 45%.

he wasn,t everyones cup of tea by a long way but cannot think that even his biggest detractor was happy to see him replaced by a B fillum version of a barrow boy and his attempt to make the club into a joke or detested by fans who never did before.
