No but it looked a little dirty for a car of that importance. A grey colour and pleasantly surprised to see one. Last year I seen a BMW " bubble car " and that was also in Hartlepool. :uhoh:

Dream car is only what I could afford as I had just got married, sold my luxury car to buy a house. I had plenty of dream cars later in life but would only make you envious, btw they don’t have tuk tuks here where I live.

I always wanted a Mk 3 Cortina when I was 19…… got a Mk4 eventually, a right bag of shite it was too

I also wanted a Mk3 when I was 18yr but could not afford one. I did eventually get a Mk4 later that was a really good drive. The best car I ever drove though was a old style Jag 420 G it's cornering was superb a wonderful drive. I had it for a bank holiday weekend on trial and couldn't fault it, the asking price was a little high at the time and I only wanted it to mothball for now. Always regret not buying that wonderful proper car.

They could have raised the tax threshold for pensioners to counter the scrapping of the WFA

But Uncle Starmer didn’t did he….and won’t.

Oh your back Snowy and one of your first comments was about Starmer, now am I surprised ? I was unaware it was frozen to 2028 by the previous government, basically a back door tax increase.

I understand you are a religious Starmer nut who prays twice a day. Apparently you keep your prayer mat under your hammock according to " Our Kev " like. Do you struggle to stand up ( being 72 yrs ) from the kneeling position or are you " really good " on your knees. sctatchinghead :character-kermit:

not too sure of making me envious. think you have picked on the wrong poster on that issue. they might not have tuk tuks there but i,m sure i have seen similar types of stuff on videos of the place along side of a lot of fancy new looking cars.

Nope no tuk tuks where I live, Bangkok and Phuket yes and other places, most towns have songthaews, pick up trucks with seats and a roof. Plenty of big fancy cars, mostly SUVs, credit is cheap as are new cars ones which are built locally, Thailand has an import tax of 200% on imported cars. In some cases a fancy car for Thai takes precedence over a big house.

Accy he always uses words like envious / jealous / retirement / education / life / knowledge / history / travel etc etc. He is a pure twat and more n more posters are now sussing him out. Afterall he was banned and crawled back onto the board. I think we all know the people who own and moderate this site wouldn't have banned him if he had done nothing wrong. He came back on all quiet and polite and kept his head down for a week. Now he is worse than ever and even openly criticised the hand that feeds us ( Mr.I ) enough said really.

Jamie are you ok ….are you sure you’re out east, or are you really living in Milton Keynes and those ‘flights’ home are pensioner specials on National Express coaches where you make aeroplane sounds to the annoyance of the driver…so much so you end up dumped at various services in South Yorkshire thinking you’re in Qatar as opposed to Sheffield.

Budget on Wednesday.

Further down the line about 3 years I can see the state pension being exempt from the frozen tax thresholds.
Google news which can be unreliable predicting Threshold extended to 2030 with NI tax going back up to 10p.
Well we have to fund these Boaties to the max because they are the no. 1 priority under Starmer.
But disagree peacefully or its a session in the Clinker.

It was rumoured that NI was going to be introduced by the Tories for those who continued to work after the retirement, rumours like that tend to come to fruition. Labour might unfreeze the threshold for pensioners nearer the election but I very much doubt it.

As fare as the ‘Boaties’ are concerned before Brexit, the UK would have been able to send the person back to the country where they had first claimed asylum, that would be France. This was due to a mechanism in EU law called the Dublin Regulation, which stipulates that the first EU country of entry should be the country where the asylum claim is processed. Britain is no longer in the EU, and can therefore cannot make use of this
Before 2018, when the UK was part of the EU, there were very few recorded incidents of migrants crossing the Channel in small boats, with only 539 reported in 2018.

We aren’t in the EU any more move on.
We could have sent them back to France…BUT… NOT STOPPED East Europeans flooding in unrestricted when we were in the EU thanks to Tony Blair.
Every other European country put a seven year ban on movements but we didn’t thanks to Blair…and paid the price.

We don't need the Dublin Regulation to stop the boats though, Starmers set up a new Border Force Quango to specifically to smash the gangs - that'll do it.

That’s my point Snowy read what I said about numbers coming when we were in the EU, not the now.Eastern Europeans flooded in many have now returned home, many who worked in the Care and Hospitality Industry. What did the Tories do to stop the Europeans who came in during the Tory government, the year ending March 2016, more than 500,000 EU nationals moving to the UK
Europeans won’t come now, they need visas and proper wages,
Indian citizens accounted for the largest number of work visa recipients in 2023, The UK also granted a substantial number of visas to Nigerian, Pakistani, and Zimbabwean nationals for long-term immigration.
Now who would you rather have Europeans or people from Africa and India ?

Think I saw that Toledo too - white classic!
I didn't have one but I had two Triumph Dolomites - excellent cars for that era.

Why ????? now that sounds a bit racist but I see your point.… neither preferably unless offering something we really need and also willing to integrate into an open society.
The the fault over thirty years is of Tories and Labour welcoming the world in, that’s why we are where we are as they have the reasoning and thought process of a wet student.
The east Europeans left because of Brexit, but the Tories put there size nine boots in by replacing them with a different culture altogether for what reason…. only God knows.
Sounds like part of the Globalist agenda where populations are scattered across the world to get rid of national identities.

Dear me Snowy I agree with you, yes it did sound a bit racist but the people from these countries are not really welcome by the majority. They will not integrate, they form their own little communities usually but is it the case we don’t make any effort to integrate with them ?

They could have raised the tax threshold for pensioners to counter the scrapping of the WFA

But Uncle Starmer didn’t did he….and won’t.

Oh your back Snowy and one of your first comments was about Starmer, now am I surprised ? I was unaware it was frozen to 2028 by the previous government, basically a back door tax increase.

You always bite at the ‘S’ word….now listen carefully..he is in charge, there he gets the flak….he soon wobbled over taxing the mega rich..oops, he is one….a so called socialist Party ran by a Sir with money…what a crazy state of affairs.

How many times do I have to tell you it’s not a Socialist party it’s a centralist Tory Party.
The U.K. is trillions in debt, it has to be fixed some how, the U.K. is spending more than it’s earning. It’s always going to hurt people but what would the Tories have done, they might not have stopped the WFA as they have a lot of support in the grey rinse brigade sector. There would have been cuts made elsewhere and probably just as unpopular as the ones by the current government.
The cut in PIP, how are they going to enforce it, they don’t have enough staff to police it, it’s done online and phone calls with little or no spot checks.
It will be an interesting Spring budget, opinions are it will be a ‘Tory’ type budget as they still need to raise more money.

Speak for yourself…my mam and dad both worked, but it never affected our family life..we all had extended family’s …. I’d say it’s a society more obsessed with chasing possessions , fads , fashions, holidays and wanting it NOW.

but even then it was not a street party every weekend and some neighours were only spoken to by a good morning etc where other were part of an extended family. if you liked a pint and went to pools you would not be mates with a tee total bloke who hated football. its same at work where you ignore nobody but you end up in a group with the likeminded. integration is a load of cack and will never happen only in the world of the lefty who sees theory being greater than practise. far better to allow everyone to carry on as they wish lawfully in the ways they want instead of forcing change on them all.

How do you know all those facts Snowy, I can agree about the inheritance tax or stop the WFA but they would have had no choice but to introduce some unpopular policies to balance the books.

Just because my facts are unknown to you ….does not mean they don’t exist.
How do I know these ‘facts’ that you apparently don’t …..well it’s because I enjoy reading alternating opinions to get a middle of the road concensus, that you absorbing political dogma from from Starmer’s Ministry of Cobblers ..doesn’t give you …sometimes try reading what you don’t want to read instead of toeing the Party line obediently..
Now, how did you know any successor to Starmer’s listing government, would have to introduce what I can only see as self inflicted political wounds, you’re just assuming anyone else would be dumb enough to follow the pathway of these political Gumbies.
Have a nice day.

Oh here we go again, Snowy get it into your head I neither support the current Labour Party nor their leader nor read any of their literature.
You say you read alternating opinions, who are they, how would they fix the mess the U.K. is in, the country is in the s**** and there are going to be some painful decisions to made, if you read my posts you will see I have already said I don’t agree with Labours monetary policies.
The person to read up on is Gary Stevenson a non political non party economist, loads of YouTube videos.

There isn't one person that you should listen to or take notice of, that's the entire point, if you read more articles from more varied sources you can make your own balanced opinion.
Are your thoughts your own or are you just a conduit for Mr Stevensons?

Jamie is just a Labour stooge and talks in so many riddles he continually ends contradicting himself.
He defends Starmer like a dog humping it’s owners leg ….then says he doesn’t rate the bloke….Now that’s confused.
I suspect he’s just AI with self inflicted teething faults .

Can you post one article where I defended Starmer Snowy, you can’t because there isn’t one, you are on a permanent wind up about me and Starmer, you need to move on it’s getting very boring Snowy.

I’ve just answered this question once already elsewhere, for you to be putting the same question out repeatedly in slightly different forms is a sign of your own unease….. and you can’t even see it…or should that be just prattle out the same sorry line like all apparatchiks of any Party.
You’re like a whale insisting you’re a shrimp.
When confronted by a fact…you bluster…badly.

I agree Jamie.

Agreeing with Jamie is like two skeletons having sex in a biscuit tin…lots of noise, but no end product…just noise.
