Great to see Pools playing proper football again and LL has to get credit for changing it around from Sarll's nonsense in a week. He should have made his substitutions around the 60 minute mark though.

Plenty of good performances, but unfortunately none of them were from our front three - Campbell, Grey and Mani D were all poor on the night.

To be fair that was much much better. Without a mistake from a young keeper that would’ve been 3 points. Would’ve also liked to see Mathurin come on for Grey who had a quiet night but otherwise a big step forward this time

Thought Mani and Grey looked tired tonight and nothing was coming off for them. Overall we played well but that final ball is lacking quality, got in some good areas but wasted it. Some good performances from sass davies, parkes, sheron and Featherstone in particular but asimwiie was probably my MOM, ran his socks off and looked a threat going forward. If we can win Saturday then it's a decent week.

Alty finished 4th last season - 17 points better off than Pools.

If it was all about crowd size Bradford City would be playing in the Championship

Did you really expect change as soon as Sarll walked out the door…..It takes time to change. Not too long, but long enough.

We threw away a 0-1 win tonight because of a goal keeping howler (My nanna's budgie could have kept that out).
But I reckon we'd have lost tonight if DS was still in charge. So things are looking up.

No Waterfall was a big plus. He's been a liability at the back. Sass Davies was great and worked his socks off and it was a relief to see that Crawford was doing the same job for them as he was for us (he's really good but - end result - nothing).

Fair enough assessment of where we are, hope springs eternal. Maybe and its a big maybe we get someone in that can change this season. I am an optimist but the decision making has to be taken away from lenny and the like, we deserve a chance PTID

On the 26th August. 2 months ago...

Hope he gets his goal touch back as soon as poss. - this Saturday would be great.

Playing him on the left does him no favours, he's much better on the right. Can't argue with Asiimwe's first half display though.

Joe did put in his usual shift defensively. Lord knows Fergie needs all the help he can get!

I thought Mani looked as if he was carrying a knock and Joe Grey didn't look interested.
In the short time Mancini was on he made little impact, maybe should have been brought on earlier.
Not a lot from Campbell either.
Defence did well but Ferguson was getting done by the winger who was on trial with us and who then disappeared.
Sheron took his goal well and could have got another.
All in all a point on the road can't be sniffed at but our chances need to be more clear cut and then we have to take them. We aren't scoring anywhere near enough goals.
We need the new man in pronto.
Although it was end to end at times, nobody took the game by the scruff of it's neck and made things happen.

I agree he should be much more involved in the box like he was at the backend of last season. I was just pointing out that he was sharp in that particular game at Woking but overall he needs to get more involved in the box which we all know he is well capable off.

Stop making shit up.
You only degrading yourself saying that was great proper football.
Cudent retain the ball for more than 15 seconds.
Free kicks n Corners the usual dogshit.

And stinker of the match MannyD. Bone idle didn't want to wear the shirt with pride.

And Lens just as bad as his bullshitting pal.

That's the proper version. :angry-tappingfoot:

Season over.

Watched a different match to me then, massive improvement over recent performances with only a week with the dinosaur,... and unlucky not to win

he did make a couple that could have been used ten minutes earlier. they didn,t make one with a popular manager in charge who has brought the club on. just because you can make 5 subs its not compulsory to use them.

its sod all to do with the number of fans. something people fail to miss is the fact where altrincham are situated. 4 of their side were league winners with stockport and the rest where from clubs within a 50 mile radius of their ground. if we had a possible pool of free transfers to sign up like them we,d have a better team. how many players are there out there we have tried to sign but do not want to move miles away to the NE or pay stupid wages to bribe em to come up.

for me it was a better game to watch than the ones where we won away this season. got lucky in all three and without luck we could have won last night. i,d guess it was a far better watch than some of that millionaire champions league walking football that would have been on offer. no shithouse time wasting, faigning injury to slow down the game and the rest of the shithousery from the top or a raft of subs introduced in the 1st minute of an added 10.
