Not retaining Phillips was probably the most sane decision in the last year. He was dreadful, as Fylde are about to find out.

do think fans changed their minds and wanted him gone after that defeat at gateshead. nothing much was said about previous managers whose team lost by a similar margin at the vic by torquay and the blue scouse kids.

After the 7-1 Pools won 3, drew 2, lost 1 of their last 6 games. Not my idea of dreadful, especially when the starting 11 picked itself - no-one else was fit apart from a couple of academy lads and useless loan players.

I wonder how much the likes of Duffus and Cooper were his idea too - what was he doing, scouting people on his iptv stick while he was out of work?

Sarll said in the summer that Joe Monks, Mr Burns and Ronnie Moore were all involved in finding players and had a big say in who was and wasn't signed.

yet that defeat was mentioned on every thread available. even those two mentioned were only used sparingly by him once they were found out and not regular starters.
