I would ask Gucky to have a go in a caretaker role, at least his tenure with the Academy has proved he knows how to set a team up to produce positive results.

if i was him i,d tell the club where to go as i,m sure he,ll be happier in his present roll. would not mind if the club had a plan B ready the day sarll gets the push.

Look what happened to Sweeney, he was in a similar role and eventually basically got sacked for some reason when Sarl arrived.

not too many were bothered about that being the only one present during the new era of crap.

If you can’t work out why he got sacked, I’d do some deep thinking.

The fuck up was getting rid of Askey then signing Parkes and waterfall

So I think you are saying Askey could and should have been aloud to sign these players. sctatchinghead If I have understood your message properly? That is a very good point to make.

parkes and Waterfall were lined up before Phillips came in Askey talked sense and was seriously hamstrung by injuries and having to keep the prior years under contract shite-he wasn't perfect but I would argue he's comfortably the best we have had since Challinor.....though the competition isn't much I know

Agreed - Askey is doing a decent job down here at Truro. Watched them a couple of times and they're playing some good stuff.

His tenure with us is ancient history now though. I'm normally an advocate of giving managers time to settle in and work with the players, but it's obvious that Sarll isn't the right fit and we need (yet another) change to give us a chance of finishing at the right end of the table.

not exactly ancient history as he was still our manager 12 months back with an injury list the length of a missing platoon on the somme. not just any old players injured but important ones where we never saw seaman again having a decent match withot mancini and dodds. then manni d gets crocked followed by unerah at oldham leaving us with bog all up front. sarlls injury problems are not remotely close to a year ago and none missing are being missed much.

I didn't mean to be quite that flippant - although it's a long time ago in terms of our manager history, given how quickly we get through them! He was unlucky, no doubt. And I'm pleased that his next gig seems to be going much better for him.

get just a single season contract at pools and you,ll go through more managers than players once got with 10 years at a club. Feathers must hold a record at any club for the number of managers and temporary ones he has played under in his years with us. not going to attempt to list em as i,m sure i,d miss a couple out.
