Personally I've called probably everyone on here as bad but likely worse that Leggie did me, but I do that privately and don't allow myself to resort to offensiveness in my posts.
Am I hurt by the name calling, not at all but if the board is open to free for all I'll be giving as good as I get.
I appreciate you sticking up for your mate, but when you look at things dispassionatey you'll realise that there's only one post that's been out of order and that wasn't posted by me.

I'll answer that Mr PTID. There are two people who moderate this forum. Mr I, who is the forum's owner, and myself.

In reality the level that standards are set are mainly in the domain of the forum's membership and how that membership conduct themselves.
Is it our job to teach grown men how to behave? Do we need page after page of hard and fast rules and regulations and insist that they are carried out to the letter under pain of experiencing the fall of the big hammer on anybody who dares to step out of line?
People know when they are being disrespectful, or narking the pitch and, like any other forum, we have our share of that. How far do we let people go before drawing the line and where do we actually draw that line.
If people deliberately set out to nark the pitch, abuse fellow members, insult fellow members, gang up on fellow members, then the place will descend into mayhem, especially if, in turn, reasonable people start retaliating in the same manner.
The responsibility for harmony, togetherness, enjoyment, friendship and all other good things lies with each of us both individually and collectively under the common banner of Poolies.
Any movement away from those ideals can only be generated by our behaviour.
That is all we need to focus on.

So why don't you put a stop to all the racism, misogynistic, anti LGBT stuff etc etc on here?

I am sure Derwent will answer this question at some stage but for my part, I believe this forum allows free speech on a number of issues mainly but not exclusively related to Hartlepool United. I also would query who should be the judge of what is banter and what is "racist" (a seriously over-used term), misogynistic (is it mysogynistic to say you dont like womens football and object to it be forced on us?). How exactly should it be defined? Cant say I have seen any comment on here that could be construed as as anti LGBT but then who knows what your defintion of this would be. It is your right to be offended but it is not the job of the users of this board to avoid offending you. If you feel it is appropriate why not send Derwent or Mr I a message declaring your dissatisfaction? I am certain they will be helpful but they may not edit people's opinions unless they actually break the law. Just as a side issue, why do you never contribute to any discussion on football but confine your very few posts to sniping at others or the way this forum is conducted? I am offended by this but I guess I'll have get on with it.

It's just an observation and a genuine question.

anyone can come on here and put their side to any issue thats brought up. must be easy to do without labelling the other poster or getting arsy or personal with them. better seeing some good old adult discussions than posters rubber stamping others. think this is a weakness of football forums with many thinking and posting similar posts to make themselves popular with people they do not even know or put a face to.

Thats how i see it, we have had what months to be ready? We have gone from the season is months away, to now well the lads be trundling off on their jollys to yeovil on the fun bus, a week friday probobly with plenty of extra leg room this year. Shock horror we are already mentioning injuries to a paper thin squad, god help us if mani d and dixon now get injured and the lad that we appear to be waiting for hurts his little toe in the shower.

We already knew mancini and dodds were coming back from serious injuries.

I think what we really need to do is big up our academy stars get as many of them whacked in the team as possible.

Later on in the thread you describe your question as genuine based on your observations.
That's fine but the problem I've got is I don't see what you apparently see.
So where does that leave me in terms of your question.
Within your question is an assumption or even an accusation that we, as admin, allow credence that the categories you describe, ie racism, are rife, ignored or maybe allowed.
Based on that and assuming your genuine concern I am looking for evidence which backs up your concerns. I am wondering why there is a lack of concern from you every time a post which you consider to be OTT on these categories but yet don't challenge said post. Nobody else challenges these posts either. Why haven't you challenged each and every post as it happened. As not everyone is as fanatical over these topics as the next man, it is easy for people to miss what to you may be obvious.
So the best way to tackle the problem as you see it is for you to get away from sweeping statements and be more specific. Give me examples of what you consider out of order and therefore not allowed and I will scrutinize them and make a decision on their individual merit. I can do this retrospectively or on an ongoing basis. I invite other people who may have similar concerns to come forward as well as you.
This can be done both openly on the forum or privately by messaging Mr I or myself.
I'll re iterate what I have said elsewhere the first moderator of any post is the person who wrote it.
You and your concerns are being treat with due respect and consideration here Mr Gee. I think it is the forum's and my right to expect equality in this.
I could have dismissed or even ignored your question but I haven't,
Please reflect on that.

But yeah in the future I'll point out posts in your direction that are racist, misogynistic etc etc. I have no problem doing your job for you as I was a moderator on this very board well before you became a member.

It would be really a better idea if you point out those posts to the originator if they bother you in any way and then you can educate them in the error of their ways. Politely of course. However if you haven't the inclination to do that you can point them out to me and, if I agree with you, I'll do the job for you. No problem
Yes you were a moderator in the past but not as Dustin Gee.
Times have changed and moderators have to face criticisms from all manner of woke sources and minority fanaticism and diversity and, bearing in mind, as not everybody agrees that these changes forced upon society are a force for good, the job becomes more complicated.
We even have to contend with people who come on here just to nark the pitch but, in the past, they were usually loids and we all collectively held hands to repel boarders. Nowadays the loids have mainly disappeared, only to be replaced by different narks pretending to be dressed as Poolies. One or two have even got you up on your feet.
But we plod on regardless, doing the best we can.

Nah it was answering your question. Obviously the answer is not to your liking so you dismiss it. I expected that.
However, after reflection, you've agreed to what I asked.
Let's see how many people you call out over your "concerns".

Judging by the little evidence available, if Slog can avoid injuries he could very well develop cult status amongst Poolies. I just have a feeling. A no nonesense, energetic, box to boxer who doesnt mind a tackle is just what we have been crying out for, for years.

It's early doors Ozzy let's not get carried away it's only pre-season and he has only played 1 game and a part game. If he is doing well at the end of October then we may have cause to be optimistic.

only problem with that due to how refs interprit the game now is that he,ll get a rest after his cautions mount up. we have all seen free kicks given for what we see as a fair tackle every week both for and against us.
