Surely being a fan means supporting the club. That doesn't mean praising everything they do but nor does it mean criticising everything they do. I would have thought there'd be more looking forward to the new season than constantly referring to past seasons. There's a lot changed at the club on the playing side and from those who've been to the friendlies we are showing promise.
Roll on the new season and hopefully we'll be talking about good results and performances rather than the nightmare of the last couple of seasons.

Precisely and when they do well they get praised unfortunately if your on a 3 year slide praise isnt going to be forthcoming too quickly.

Yeah easier to focus on the 3 year slide than what's currently happening though. New manager, new style, new players, pre season going OK but barely a positive word (even coupled with a huge amount of caution).

I don't back Raj or attack him, there lies the balance.
He is all we've got until he is replaced. There is not a thing I can do about it but I do chuckle at you continuously trying to paint me as a Raj lover, Billy, simply because you have nothing better to say.

I don't consider myself a super fan. No far from it.

You may have been an avid fan in the past, Billy, but that has no relevance to now. It is how you support the club in the here and now that's relevant and for the last three years you have chucked vitriol, abuse, hatred, derision etc etc in bucket loads at the club and its owner. How can that behaviour be described as love. How can you treat that which you profess to love in that manner day in and day out for three years. Try it on your mates and see how long they remain mates. You won't have to wait long.
I'm not saying you have no right to criticise, of course you have. A God given right to criticise but you abuse it. It is incessant to the point of obsession.
All fans get upset over things from time to time but their love for their club always shines through. not with you though.
You've become bitter and twisted over something you have no control over.

We have no clue how its going to go like what was said after scarborough friendlies mean nowt, we are short of players so why sing the praises until it all happens.

But lets give the lads huge praise they closed down an under 21 team really well. Have you not remembered whats happened prrviously? New manager, new players, new style has this just become a new thing?

Whats not new is once again we are short of a squad but that never seems to sink in with you and one or two others and until them players are brought in we are heading for problems.

Perhaps it's you who needs to get the grip my friend.
My grip is firmly on reality, whereas your obsessive fantasy is in the clouds.
You have whinged, whined and directed nothing but negativity towards the club incessantly and have achieved what exactly.
If we are to get back to the EFL any time soon we have to do it together.
Try it from now until game 11 and we'll exchange frank views at that point.
Get out of this forecasting doom and gloom mode and try and be positive, which is all we can do really.

You can tell it's been a long close season - yes we've had a tough time of it in recent seasons but surely that's the life of a Poolie- we're not in it for the glory- otherwise we'd have all fucked off years ago.

This is our club that represents our town on the national stage. One that we are all proud of, to some greater or lesser degree. Had a bloke stop me just yesterday whilst at the tip in Kettering - saw the Pools stickers on the car windows and was regaling me of his several visits to the Victoria Ground (proper old school I know)- following Blackpool- even mentioned Drummond and the blow up doll in the playoffs!

As I've stated previously I'm not Raj's biggest fan however that's what we've got and still a world away from the Coxberg asset stripping debacle that nearly cost us our existence.
Raj by his own admission has made mistakes, but the club is now on a more stable footing and things are looking up across the board.

We've shipped out all the Hartley deadwood and got rid of a lot of previous fringe players who just weren't up to it- so must have freed up a huge amount in wages.

The players brought in, all have a decent pedigree, are a good age and compliment the decent players we've managed to keep hold of. We have a manager who has a clearly defined plan and a way of playing, with everyone knowing what's expected.

Could things be better - of course they could - we clearly need more depth, but the manager knows that and will be addressing it.

I think we have as good a chance as any other team this season without the likes of moneybags Stockport, Wrexham, Notts and Cheaterfield. - why not us - We're more than due a season in the sun and a Winners Trophy  .

The players are fit, system set and with 4/5 complimentary additional players the only other thing we require and are due is LUCK (with injuries, suspensions and decisions)!

We will lose and draw games as that's football but let's, let the opposition worry about US for a change. At the end of the day what the vast majority of us want is success, so we need to get behind the team and stop looking to pick fault before a ball has been kicked. The nah sayers will disappear back into the woodwork once the wins start to roll in.

COME ON POOLS - nowt to beat! rolf

We'll have more idea Kev.
As for old timers. After over 70 years of following Pools nothing surprises us much.
Years and years ago an old timer said to me about following Pools " the first fifty years are the worst and then it goes downhill after that"

we keep having posts like all these popping up every few weeks on other threads at every opportunity just to knock. feel some of us do not want success as it does not fit their minds or agendas. show me a single club where everything is to the total liking by every fan and that included man.city and the money bags clubs we used to play regularly.
