i think we will see the lowest number of season tickets sold since records began - i dont know any regular who is renewing theirs.

plus there is about 5 lads i know also whom cant make the games they would due to family and work commitments etc. times are getting harder and a season ticket will be the last thing on alot of lists unfortunately.

I can remember season ticket holder numbers being less than a thousand so don't think we'll be going that low.

York with their multi millionaire owners are putting their prices up by about the same as us, plus they've increased concession age from 60 to 65, plus they've scrapped free tickets for under 7s.

Everything is going up regardless of the cost of living, plus lots of stuff is going up but you get less. As ever we make our choices, I'll be renewing regardless of who we sign.

you will not be on your own and that includes some who sit near me who seem to be absent more than they are there. cannot understand anyone forking out the money unless they will we watching the vast majority of games, but like everything its each to their own.

Playing into Singh hands, if the fans don’t back me I’m off, it’s a pity his ‘hart’ isn’t in Hartlepool.

Look's like i'm in the minority then? in my situation paying it up front is better from a financial point of view - end of the Saturday is my fix and i couldn't imagine not watching the lads

as i have said above you,ll not be on your own and many who are discussing this thread will have no intention of buying one no matter what the price was unless it was nearly a give away one.

Doesn't matter because you choose what you want to do and are perfectly entitled to do it.
Never feel any guilt from freely spending your hard earned as you see fit, no matter what others say they're going to do.
There is an air of lets boycott the ST sale.
From a personal point of view, if I was the owner and fans took that line, which they equally are perfectly entitled to do, I would simply point out that ST income is an integral part of the forming of the budget.

Everyones financials are different and 100% an individual decision especially in a cost of living crisis.
Can remember 25 years ago there was loads of us used to do Pools on a Saturday all day session. Then pool Sunday night
Then billiards Monday nite.
Darts or Pools Tuesday nite.
Snooker Wednesday nite.
Thursday Friday recover then repeat.

The days are long gone were most die-hard Poolies can only afford to do the Saturdays.

OAP early bird has gone from £250 to £275 or 10% increase. A similar 10% increase for adults.
This doesnt seem unreasonable to me as after inflation/other cost pressures and hopefully to fund a better playing staff.
Unless Raj is just going to trouser it?

Aye, good job the club isn't run by junior doctors, they see 35% increase as the norm.
I wonder how the new government will handle that.

You've just described me. I'll be weighing up the convenience of just having the damned thing in my wallet every time I feel like going against terminal disillusion with the way the club is being run - it wasn't always the case, but these days I'm way past finding excuses for Raj's petulance and poor judgement.

I think there's a lack of transparency about the number of season ticket holders as it is. In the area of the Millhouse I sit in there's been a big drop off of people you'd call regulars, but plenty turning up for the odd game.

Yep i noticed a big drop as well, i sit in next block along from the NWC and i have pretty much 3/4 of a row free behind me now, never used to be like that.

This is where the attendance figures are nonsense. Loads of season ticket holders just stopped going but they were still counted in the figures. They announced say 4200 a few times when it looked a lot less, and particularly so in the NC seats and town end.

Surely from a safety aspect you cannot claim attendances assuming all season ticket holders are attending every match when they did not.
In the event of an incident or emergency scenario, inflating your crowd by blandly assuming possessing a season ticket is assuming attendance is poor and unsound management.
Can anyone prove the empty seats were Season ticket holders as they tend to be the real diehards whereas the regular attendees who turn out without season tickets can swerve games and save money.

It’s very common for clubs to publish ‘tickets sold’ as ‘attendance’, which seems to happen across the leagues. There also don’t seem to be hard and fast rules for how attendance is calculated.
This article talks about premier league teams and mentions the H&S point.

I agree, it should just be the number of fans there on the day but there you go.

But surely they automatically count the number of season tickets in the ground on entry…..if you’re including people who aren’t there you’re giving a false impression of support on the day…now why would that be…. sctatchinghead

its not so much about actual attendance at games or tickets sold which is a problem. its when the sold out signs are put out and you go in and see empty seats around you. used to be like this in every cup final where they gave the attendance as the wembley capacity but no way everyone who had a ticket would have gone for numerous reasons. really doubt pools will ever have this problem though but its worth sorting it out before it might happen.

does that happen anymore with counters on turnstiles. just count all season tickets and matchday tickets that have been sold to get the figure thats announced.

You can have as many counters as you want but what’s announced doesn’t need match them does it ?

There should be an accurate head count of who is in the ground for safety reasons or haven’t the football authorities learnt anything from previous tragedies.

Putting figures for who is actually in the ground might also give an indicator of how good the football on offer actually is as a bonus.

if clubs had to pay VAT only on actual attendance figures we and others would be playing in front of 3 figure crowds. can name at least one club who announced different attendance figures to who were actually there and i,m sure others will have done the same for different reasons.
