You’re right, always a bad weekend before they go back to school, too many calls on your time.

Not exactly a comfortable win in the end, we couldn't keep hold of the ball for the last 20 minutes. Manny O was the last line of defence too often and got a knock towards the end. Fingers crossed it's nothing.

Pools are still a threat going forward and should have scored more. Paterson worked his nuts off, but playing Fergie at centre back won't do. He only got forward for a cross a couple of times and the last one was perfect for Mani D to score.

Tom Crawford deservedly fans MoM. The way he's shaping up he could have a big season for us.

I suspect Ferguson was in central defence because Lacey was injured. Next weekend I think Fergy will be in his more usual position if Lacey is fit.

He was, but there were other options. If Lacey misses more games I'd rather he gave one of the other 3 centre backs on Pools books a game so Fergie can play in his best position - his attacking play and the crosses he get in is probably Pools' most consistent goal threat.

agree. you ind up losing two players instead of one by moving him where he is least effective.

All that mattered today was we won, we have wretched luck. Could of been 5 nil but we made ridiculously hard work of it pools style. Oxford next week another tricky game, any win will do at this moment in time until we bring players in

however we got the 3 points getting them after a horrendous week at the club was the most important thing. another plus was crawfords goal. he knows himself that its a weakness in his game and it could really settle him down and improve him if he scores another in one of his next couple of games.

I agree with you. I presume JA doesnt think much the other central defensive options. Either that or considered Wealdstone's style of play and thought Fergy as a central defender might be a good option in that particular game. Anyway lets hope Lacey is ok next Sat.

we have seen fergie there before though and we all know he isn,t and never will be a central defender. its just a pity we have not got a left sided midfielder who can drop in there for the odd game instead of him.

Whilst I am not a fan, we do have a left sided midfielder who can drop back,Dolan,. Obviously Askey does not rate him and he doesn’t even make the bench.

Haven’t forgiven Dolan for that second crawley goal, been given a contract for a year purely for being local, Askey has seen enough to form the same
Opinion most of us had of him from his displays last season

Dolan is far too static and just like to play the easy pass - he wouldnt last 5 minutes in that midfield ! Literally would be like playing with 10 men.

We should of put the game to bed before half time - need to start doing that against teams like these but nm we won thats all that matters !

hopefully more new lads in this week

Think the Dolan deal was already part of his loan, Can,t get out of that if already agreed.
Would Askey have signed him ?, Who Knows.

I see the Jam Man hasn't improved Cove Rangers lying equal 2nd bottom. How did he ever inspire Raj to employ him?

its football though when a fraction of an inch can mean the difference whether you hammer a side or not. there will be a game this season when we,ll absolutely batter somebody but somehow fail to score and they,ll do a smash and grabon us going home with 3 points when their one shot on goal goes in.

oh without a shadow of a doubt - we seen it countless times before in this league

Kings Lynn game always springs to mind - sure we would of went top with the win and they snook a 1-0 home victory when i think Oates tore them a new one for the full game !

anyways onto the weekend where i shall be cheering them on from sunny Espana !

We have Mani D now though- a proper fox in the box. Not seen his like since the halcyon days of Joe Allon the first time round.
