Dolan will be a good replacement for Featherstone.

a slower poundland one if he plays in the same position. am i the only one who does not rate dolan one bit.

Like most not been impressed by him so far but I have a gut feeling he will be a good asset next season. I was told he was not fully fit and needs a preseason to get his fitness levels up to scratch. Plus his experience should come through in this league. The only time he looked a player was when he pushed up into midfield at end of games and caused some problems in opposition box. I would probably use him in midfield off the bench last 20 / 30 mins of games but certainly not in defence.

We signed him at the start of January and he looked just as bad if not worse in April. Can’t see how a pre season is going to sort that out. It’s not like he was injured last year, he just couldn’t get near either of 2 of the worst teams in the league.

Dolan will be far more effective than Featherstone imo, neither has any pace but Dolan is physically stronger, gets around the pitch more, and has a better range of passing. He'll be fine in NL.

He got binned off out of our very poor team last season, so what on earth are we doing even keeping him. Tells me we are going to scrape the barrel once again when we do things like that.

Im sure the deal was loan spell to permanent this summer.
So Dident have to prove himself or put 100% effort in to get on the payroll till next June.

Really.
Surely we not signing a player to be used as a Supersub.
The modern day David Fairclough.

I dunno why, but I had it in my head Dolan had saddled his horse and rode off into the sunset. Oh dear.

Considering we've got a couple of weeks until the start of pre-season why is there so much pessimism?
We've got a manager who's proven himself at our level with financially strapped clubs.
At the moment the squad is easily capable of winning more than we lose in the NL.
Granted we're still likely to lose Sylla, Umerah, maybe Featherstone, but I suspect we need to ship a few out anyway before we can bring too many in. Essentially where we're looking weak is lack of width and pace in midfield, and strikers. But Askey will know what's required and what he needs.
We've got the best combination of Manager in place and nucleus of a squad in preparation for the new season since Challinor.

Have we got a few weeks before the start of pre season? We play boro on the 14th and I'm sure we're planning on a trip to Scotland the week before ? I know most clubs have friendlies for the 7th so that's only 19 days away before we actually start playing games. We have lost our main scorer in midfield one of our best players from the conference days, and like you say likely to lose umerah, sylla and possibly Featherstone. Add to that players like hastie and as time runs on were still a complete mess of a team as things stand.

this is the first time since the start of our promotion season we have had a manager in place who has a full summer to recruit. After promotion challinor had to start after the rest and last one we had a late appointment. now there can be no excuses this one.

Kev, after last seasons death by a thousand cock ups, I feel like I’m waiting for a bus that’s never gonna come.

Dolan on Pools books according to the OS, contract clause exercised along with Pruitt and Sylvia, then again is the OS ever up to date ?
