And you believe any of it? Sounds like somebody's on a wide up or at the Fantasy Football again.

As of this morning there's been very little confirmed business done by any League Two clubs. Swindon getting Charlie Austin in on loan till the end of the season (from Brisbane Roar!) could be the pick so far.

If true would we be happy or not with that situation.

Hartley if true, id imagine signing just on till the end of the season. Would ideally be a experienced head in the back line and still is fit - was adored by the Indians and seemed to do a hell of a job out there.
He is more than capable of turning out for a good none league side still too so can imagine them being alerted to his availability ...i.e Gateshead or York... Nathan Thomas has just secured himself more contract at York too.

the Umerah thing... who knows.. Bogle came and went in a flash and was a surprise in and out.. anything happens at this club atm. always expect the unexpected with pools

id like to see us get Dolan ... the Brad Walker thing also dead in the water as Cass is now out at PV

I can’t imagine Hartley having much pace at 35 years old it’s bad enough we have Murray who also has no pace, Odisina type players is what we need.

Hey Jamie you are right about Armstrong but maybe he would be a good foil for Josh a bit like the old Niall Quinn Kev Phillips duo at The Mackems. That is of course that no one is about to steal Josh away on the cheap.

According to the HUST newsletter Raj says it was Paul Hartley's choice - he didn't like the cut of Omar's jib and wanted him out. As it made room for Umerah it's one thing I wouldn't criticise the Mad Scot for. Much prefer Umerah over Bogle, who put in some really half arsed performances at the end of last season.

Newport fans are starting to feel the same way about Bogle now, lazy arse.

Are we going to be deafened by the sound of silence from the club?????
The activity or lack of it will be a deciding factor in future relationships between lifelong loyal fans and their beloved club. For some we are beginning a defining month long period, where big decisions will be made.
Big decisions have to be made. The time for bullshitting and pathetic excuses for any lack of positive action to stop has arrived.

I didn't renew for this season and haven't attended a match yet, so I know where we are. I do buy the match passes though. What I am saying is that we have one last big opportunity to bust a gut and do everything possible to save our league status. Anything less will not be acceptable. If the club aren't going to make that effort or can't make that effort they need to come out and tell us.
No bullshit, no excuses and no silence.

I thought all the potential signings would have already been approached, all they were waiting for was the transfer window to open to sign up ?

basically its a case of fans being taken for granted and they know some take in all the bullshit they put out. even if we do go down there will be some just pleased to have a club. they have lost 1000 this season and will lose another with relegation but that could be made up straight off by lowering the playing budget even more to non league level.

to be fair yesterday was the first fay in january that was not a bank holiday so they have not had much time to register a player even if the ink was dry. surely we do not want another mcguire situation.

Surely any loan deals could have been agreed and registered to commence on Jan 1st during December. Why complicate the issue any further than is necessary. I've no doubt agents will be procrastinating over permanent deals in order to maximise their take.
It's about time the F A et al formalised a system that eradicated these anomalies in order to smooth out the procedures. I won't hold my breath.

we could easily have had someone lined up but the players club changed their mind due to injuries over the christmas period and are now waiting to get their new man in first. do know where you going as longer no one is signed the accusation of it being KC 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice will come up if fans are underwhelmed or prepared to accemt anybody like robinson or a boro kid.

Think Walkers has been held up because Lewis Cass got injured on Sunday, Walker was sub but did not get on.

The thing is nobody can be surprised by the lack of action. It's almost accepted as a given as this is how little confidence we have in those running the club. Just got lucky with Challinor who if he hadn't been sacked from Flyde would never have contemplated coming to Pools. That recruitment bloke... if he actually exists wants binning. Stealing a wage comes to mind.

Sounds like Walker deal might still be on… just. Dolan unlikely.

Expecting all our relegation rivals to make a splash in the window. We need to hold our nerve and hopefully sign quality players at the price band we are looking at. It’s not amiss to say that this window could make or break the football club, given if we get it wrong, we will be relegated. And god knows what happens then…

We are - without a doubt - the worst team on paper in league 2.

I think the only realistic way we'll be able to get the quality required to save us this season is by getting decent loanees in until the end of it. People of the calibre of Cass, Magliore, Armstrong, Tishi etc.
It really comes down to the strength of our will to get out of the mess we're in.

The story so far is far from encouraging. Almost every player named as linked to Pools has either gone to another club (Cairns and White) or has a strong reason to stay where they are as is the case with Dolan and possibly Walker. The only other name touted who has not gone is the young Boro defender who was on loan at Darlo. Lets hope we have some positive news sooner rather than later.

Considering we have three games against teams around us in January we needed to be straight out of the gates as soon as transfer window opened. We have a weekend off for FA cup but need some quality in before Gillingham game.

Spot on Mr Accrington. Can you imagine if we’d signed the three guys that Colchester have picked up - a non league standard defender, a midfield player that’s played 30 games in three seasons at Stevenage and a kid that’s played twice at left back for Orient? The Bunker would have spontaneously combusted.

Agreed, quality over quantity, still early days, but I still need a bit of reassurance on the defenders side.

Saunders was on loan here before - no thanks... we cant rely on these light weight signings im afraid.

i would rather us sign no one than another Robinson - just a complete waste of money !

we will rely heavily on the loan market i think - get Dolan and Walker in then maybe a few loanees.

but they have to be the Mirfins and Bureys of this world should we progress - Gillingham for me will sign some cracking players over the next few weeks and start to pick up points - we just need to make sure we are out of sight by the time their little run of form comes along !
