I normally delete one of them for the sake of tidiness but I'll leave them as a pair if it pleases you.

That's all.
You are perfectly entitled to encourage discussion on anything but please remember it's not you who has to clean up any subsequent mess.

Mess ??

I read every post that is written on here and the ones which command my attention most are the contentious ones. I try not to take the easy route by deleting individual posts or threads or members. I'd much prefer to let it run sensibly.
I'm sure you get what I am saying.
There is more and more criticism and scrutiny being focussed on social media these days and the board and it's members have to be diligent.
I'm leaving it at that if you don't mind.

You sound like we live in North Korea, we do have free speech in the U.K.

we have free speech as long as you follow a certain popular line of the moment. you can say virtually what you like without any correct information on the topic if its seen as the popular media position on it. disagree with all the facts at your disposal then you,ll be shut down and have some ist or ism placed after you. just ask JK Rowling and the ones who have lost their jobs on their free speech if we have it in this country.

First and foremost I check my facts, all my replies/posts are information from recognised/reputable media sites. The problem is to many people listen to what I call ‘bar stool talk’.
This site won’t get shut down, it’s not like Facebook or YouTube, it’s not monitored, both are monitored very closely and anything they think is incorrect information, racist etc is removed, repeated offenders get shut down.

We have free speech to a degree, as long as you don't say anything from the offensive list. Ask Souness.
You keep trying to pigeon hole me, without fact checking. Associating someone with the ideals of North Korea is not complimentary in any way shape or form so why do it. Is your point so weak that you have to add derogatory remarks to it???
Oh and this forum could be shut down tomorrow if Mr I decided he'd had enough of funding the show from his back pocket. I answer to him and not to the membership. I am only taking part in this discussion out of courtesy.
Just be happy that the facility is there for all of us at no personal cost to any of us.
As a moderator ( the only one apart from the owner), who diligently checks the site on a daily basis at least ,I would love to see everyone co operating to make my life as easy as possible on here but, like everywhere else, there are narks who would love to spoil it.
There are people who would love to see this place go down.
There are people who used to go out of their way to disrupt this place who subsequently "left", However they are still avid readers and some have returned under different user names but don't usually stay long.
Asking some people to be reasonable is just not achievable but we keep trying. It's a great forum when everyone works to it's benefit. I'd like to keep it that way but i can't do it on my own. We all have to buy into it.

always find that you do not give offence its someone else that takes it. it would be bloody boring on here and everywhere else if a thread was started and everyone just agreed with it. possibly that would be the easiest way to shut it down as after a few weeks everyone would be so bored they,d pack up watching or contributing.

Very true Mr Accy but we seem to already be good at avoiding that.

So Fuel Poverty is classed as more than 10% of your income.
State Pension about about £9600 from April with predicted £6600 average energy bills.

Then the no doubt rise in that brutal Council Tax.

No wonder Martin Lewis predicting lots of pensioners gunna die this winter.
A few CEO greedy bastads hanging out of Putin while the rest of the real world heads into major catastrophes.
Truss at least gunna to some immediate action while Rishi gunna cut income tax by 3p in 7 years time.

Pensions meeting on 7th May.
Looks like 67 68 age brackets getting brought forward by 7 years and the current under 30,s will have to be 70 to get state pension.
Tories doing their best to lose the next GE.

How many 30 year olds and other of a similar age take any interest in politics, most just live for the now, tomorrow is another day.Their attitude is what difference does it make who is in power, at the stroke of a pen they just move the goal posts.
I have said before leave the Tories in power and let them sort their mess out, using Covid, Ukraine cannot really be used as an excuse, of course it hasn’t helped but they have been in power since 2010 years before Covid and the Ukraine war started.
They nearly wiped out peoples pensions and life savings the other day if not for the BOE and all Truss could say was we are helping people out with their energy bills but failed to mention that people might not be able to afford their mortgage.

how many of any age group are interested in politics or anything else unless it affects them. over 30 per cent and even more in some areas cannot be bothered to vote in a general election for a start. know my lad in that over 30,s age group has never once voted and really doubt him or his mates know who leads any opposition party,s. put fuel, road tax and car insurance up he,ll be off on one though. mind you there are many old gits as well whose only interest is pension rises and the supermarkets putting cost of food up before they set sail on another cruise.
