It's only a loan deal with ZFA, so he is still our player and maybe can also be recalled. Getting game time with Stockport can be a bonus in keeping him ready if we should need him, that's if he does get game time.
We have the Rotherham loanee, Hull who can slot in if needed. Remembering he is six four could solve our defensive set piece problems.

ZFA will go straight into our side I reckon, Rydel our main left wing back is out for 3-4 more weeks, and he seems to have lost patience with Kitching who was doing well at LCB until Johnson replaced him, but then has got himself the daftest of sending offs by being a thick twat and angered DC who fined him the maximum and then followed it up with a few ropey performances post suspension

I'm more worried by his comments about players that Pools are trying to get to sign new deals. Talk of 'lads getting their heads turned by other clubs... some in higher divisions.' It's inevitable I suppose with the form people like Molyneux are in but very unwelcome!

We will end up in exactly the same position as last season if we're not careful especially if rumours are true that at least another 2 may go.

If they need him, can we recall him immediately just to piss them off....? Just a thought

What rumours are them then?

According to rumours, DC was going to come along and pillage the team and take them back to Stockport, never happened till now, so much for rumours.
When a wish can’t be made to come true, you make it in to a rumour. Funny how no one has ever once named the source of a rumour.

Graeme Lee has admitted players are getting their heads turned by clubs from higher leagues, uh oh…

actually we might have guessed that ourselves, but it does not make good reading. problem is out of the whole 92 clubs the vast majority are selling clubs who will lose players for jack shit who are out of contract. however where do pools lie in the pecking order where we can do to others as they do to us.

Most clubs, especially at our level, will always be preyed upon by bigger clubs but I think it is agents who do the head turning.
Agents will be telling their players to hang fire at the moment to see what is on offer at the end of the season.
The only consolation we get from the bigger clubs is that they are willing to loan us talent that we could never attract on our own but even that is a risk at times.

Reading Spike's comments this morning it's clear that Pools are getting a fee for releasing ZFA before the end of the season (“There’s history (between the two clubs) obviously we know about, but the club made a suggestion to Stockport that if you want him, it might cost you and Stockport were willing to do that.") though it's nominally a loan deal. Zane wasn't going to get a new contract from Pools in the summer so that's good business.

Likewise he 'opened up' about Gav Holohan's move to Grimsby and it's clear that Gav had been pushing for it for quite a while but the first set of negotiations broke down. He lives in Hull (for the past 12 years!) and it's a hell of a round trip for training if you're not even going to feature in the match day squad. No point in hanging on to an unhappy player in those circumstances.

Yes I'm sure hologhan wouldn't complain sitting on the Sunderland bench or Challinor managing up there. It's a cop out.

When a player signs for a club, they do it with their eyes open. I really don’t buy this nonsense about the travelling, because they decided in the first place to do it.

Unless they have no ties where they live you would think they would move to a reasonable travelling distance to the town or training ground. there are two ways of looking at those who have ties. they could move and the next thing the player finds himself on the transfer list or the manager does not come off and gets the boot. it aint like us getting a normal job miles away and moving. then there is the other one for the non movers. are they at the club for the long haul anyway in their minds so why bother with the time and expense in moving. would challinor have stayed even if the stockport job never came up as there would be other chances to leave eventually which just guessing he might have took up.

no, but i had a good mate who finished off his pro career by playing for herecles in holland. he lived near cannock, travelled over from ipswich on matchdays and trained with a local club near where he lived. guess what, the travelling got him down and left after half a season.
