Part three of the documentary I like. What colour are we, what way are we kicking? How that chipboard company got away without paying him that £20m is a mystery. I bet everything else was tickety boo though in the running of the club. Probably no surprises for anyone coming in later to save the club who perhaps was naive about unforeseen contractual obligations which may have been entered in to. You live and learn. Hopefully he has. But fuck off Darlo eh?

Perhaps if he showed up at another football club you would perhaps give their fans a reminder of what he has done in the past, especially if current actions reflect previous ones. It just so happens the man who shafted us ended up at your club. Another reason why I don’t gripe on about Reynolds and Houghton on here, it has nothing to do with pools whereas Singh does.

Yes I would warn fans of another club, no question. However......there reaches a point where you can only raise the topic so many times before it becomes obsessional.
To pop up every time something even marginal happens to connect it every time to Raj is becoming a bit tedious.
I like your posts a lot and welcome your contributions on other topics, but we got the message on this saga a long time ago.

google...What happened to Darlington Football Club?

"Darlington moved to the all-seater, 25,000-capacity Darlington Arena in 2003. The cost of the stadium was a major factor in driving the club into administration in 2003, 2009, and 2012. As the fan owned club was unable to agree a Creditors Voluntary Agreement (CVA) it was expelled from the Football Association (FA)" .....

and boring just going over the same old stuff at every single opportunity. its all history now and quicker its consigned to that then better it will be. lests all just move on as no one can do sod all about the past. you cannot really learn from it as no two situations are rarely the same.

Mr Loan Star and others said their piece four years ago and are still saying it, so I'll repeat basically what I said when these forecasts and warnings of pending doom and gloom first emerged.
If and when Raj treats us as he is alleged to have treat Darlo, then I'll kick off.
After four years in the hot seat he has done a lot of good for the club and we are now in a far better place than when he started. That is all I can go on or comment on.
If he left us for another club and that club's fans asked questions my response would be a positive one as I'm only interested in what happens at Pools and Darlo fans can warn as much as they like.
I will say this though, if someone had said to me that, within four years we would be where we are now, I would have pointed them in the direction of the funny farm.
Currently Raj is trying to galvanise the council in order to move his plan forward despite the form and failure of previous owners to do so.
I don't know the man personally but my assessment is that he knows what he wants and gets on with achieving what he wants and if, on the way, he gets frustrated or feels bogged down, what is wrong with that. We could do with a few more in this country who break their neck to get the job done.
You keep going Mr Singh. You're doing ok.

so true derwent. didn,t raj also ask for help from others to put money into the club not that long ago and there wasn,t a long line of takers. this is pools we are talking about who talk in thousands and not some premier outfit talking in billions. imagine raj in business talks in the former.

Isn't Raj in the building trade and social care industry - I reckon he probably has boat loads of experience dealing with councils and the way they work and the speed they work at.

‘The speed they work at”.... can best be described by referring to dog years and then applying the equivalent to snail speed in mph. Let’s just say it’s not fast.

Their decision making consists of the many parts but not the whole, as each phase has to accrue the mandatory level of expenses before progress to the next phase is attempted.
The perks are always given precedence over the jerks.

In his normal business he will buy the land at close to market value and develop it himself.
From what it seems from his dealing with football developments, its a case of give me the land free or cheap and I'll develop it and make money off it to subsidise my football business.
He had the chance to buy the arena for £2m, the amount owed to Scott & Sizer when a loan was agreed with the club and secured against the stadium, yet he wanted them to lose over half that so that his outlay was minimal.
Why should a council ignore other local needs, or a creditor lose money, to give someone something for far less than its worth so they can make money from it?

Look, just write a book about it or make a film...you could call it ...’Magnificent Obsession’....Ooops, too late ...... so how about ....’ Obsessive Obsession’.
Seriously, no one cares.

cannot see anything wrong with that approach by him and the council should realize the importance of pools to the town itself. free publicity for the town and i,ll say it for the umteenth time that pools home games bring money into the town itself. a good percentage of that would not come in if pools never existed especially at the vic.

The answer to this problem lays with us. If the Vic is to be developed and remain where it is, the approaches at the very least should be acceptable and safe to those using the area. This area has been a disgrace for years and on dark night an hazard to a crowd leaving, not forgetting it’s use as an access to ambulances during the match. If the Council can carry on tweaking their vanity projects yet again, they can get down to some pretty basic provision of making an access safe to the users of the area.
Until we start to pressure them politically on the subject we’ll be ignored, public demand and publicity might just loosen their grip on their purse strings providing an adequate access to the area. Supporters are ratepayers too.

yes, and over 5,000 regular rate payers flocking up every other week watching a team with there towns name on it. what else in the town would drag that number in. councils seem to ignore this but not a one armed cello playing trans group where they,d be giving em a blank cheque.

One of the highest c tax bills in the country as well.
Shamefull behaviour /attitude from our council.
Likes been said probably cheaper to fill the pot holes in than pay out a few compo claims.
Shape up Council and appreciate what cash a well run n supported football club brings to the local economy.

have you ever took legal action against the council. you need the patiance of job dealing with any of them even if you have a nailed on case with their slow timing on any correspondence even with an out of town solicetor working for you. prepare for 18 months wait from start to finish.

well thats about 76 weeks quicker than it took me to get something out of kirklees council after i fell down an open hole in the middle of the pavement where a cover was missing. the local solicitor hummer and ared being more interested in the councils mitagation than my claim. doubt i,d have got a penny without going out of the county to get another one pushing them and losing his patiance with em. mind you if i,d listened to folk in the pub i,d have dropped it for a start with their advice on taking on city hall.

Carl Richardson is the councillor for the Mill House area of the Victoria Ward. I have sent him the photograph of the approaches to the Victoria Park. He is up for re election in May. Now might be a good time to lobby him.

from experience one of the few things that councils tend not to ignore is the local MP getting involved.....and especially true if its an issue that could generate media interest....
