I suspect we’re going back 15 years or so and at that there were big expansion plans for Wynyard..... I got a bit wound up by it and said I would stop going if the club ever left the town centre never mind fecking Wynyard...... a toe dipping exercise probably, but that’s how they all start.
There were plenty who thought it a good idea annoyingly. :angry-tappingfoot:

wonder if those who thought it was a good idea told you where they lived. possibly to the south of the time or around billingham.

To be honest, people think nothing of driving huge distances for the daftest of things so where people live in the town would probably be neither here nor there sadly.

The council were actually going to build a tramway from all parts of the town to the new ground which was to be built beside the new hospital at Wynyard.
It was shelved because Middlesbrough and Sunderland football clubs objected on the grounds that plastic fans from the town would suddenly be attracted to watch Pools because of the tram ride being offered. Because of the intelligence levels of these individuals it was feared that they would do what they always do, that is travel in red and white replica kits and thus present a danger of fierce fighting with real Poolies.
Darlington ( insert numbers of your choice) also objected but the guy who opened their letter of protest went into uncontrollable fits of laughter and it was destroyed.

funny how they could think up an expensive pie in the sky thing like that but seem to have little interest in the vic that brings money into the town. they,d probebly find money to refurb the odean if there was publicity in it or a name plate on its exterior.

The Odeon is looking like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon with the foliage dangling from the roof in summer, it must have it’s own micro climate up there. Where’s a decent sink hole when you need one.

Who will pay for this redevelopment though? If raj thinks the council will chip in, probobly wasting his time. Either the council says were going to do this or we forget it once and for all, it's become a joke.
