4,000, really? Would be great if you're right but I can't see it.

I was on the Mill House terrace that day. Palace just couldn't cope with Bob Newton. Great memories.

Depends on KO time. If its 3pm on a Saturday I could see it. No chance on a midweek though.

At the end of the day we've gone further in the competition than Arsenal, Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland and Stockport to mention but a few.

Love your optimism but considering we supposedly only had 4500 home fans in round 3, going to be some going get 4k to palace, if it was an arsenal or spurs yeah.

VAR could make it harder to win a penalty with less than 10 minutes to go tho

On that surface that was frozen solid and freezing my feet in the Town End, the penalty was valid

We went to the Carling Cup game in 2004, not sure what Division Palace were in but it was a small crowd....though obviously a midweek game. We had a match ticket and a curry in the corporate bit for £50. :-o

That really is a myth. 3 railway stations within walking distance and if you're driving just use the "JustPark App" for plenty of off road parking.

possibly the least attractive premier league draw for any lower division side that exists north of the M25. a sod to get through by car and with train prices you,ll need a pay day loan to pay for it. its hard,y the big day out for fans unless you are a southern exile. cannot see pools getting really hammered though as we have a slight chance. its still 11 v 11 with both sets of players having 2 of everything plus one of other things. at least a defeat will bring in more money plus we can always say we were knocked out by a premier league side away.

You can tell alot of people dont venture too far from Hartlepool nowadays or if ever. Public transport in London would you believe is actually good and can get you from any corner of london within the hour (outside of rush hour), although the new less busy london makes for quite a nice day out on the tubes. Even the red london bus isnt too bad if you cant be bothered with the hussle of the tube. Anyways Getting to London again from the North East is the best its ever been, new rail service from Boro and our Grand Central (always use this when flying out of Heathrow for work). The Mega bus for those on a budget and perhaps with bigger families (yes its a ballache but miles cheaper than train). Then you could always drive down - yes navigating through london is a ballache but could always take the longer scenic route and park and ride it in.

Rail lines between Newcastle and York are shut that weekend. Anyway, I'll be using the West Coast line......and I venture a long way to Hartlepool for match days.....

Apologies - just seen that the rail network in those parts are out of service. Yes this now puts a massive stumbling block in the way but should you take the bus they put on to York its also not too bad. Can see that bus being a Pools on tour bus just full of Poolies.

Teesside also fly to London should anyone with some spare cash want to make a weekend of it - something ill look into should it be the Friday night fixture

You could start walking now, Snowy. Pick me up at Blyth roundabout and we'll get cracking. We'll be that fit when we get there we might get a game. They won't know what's hit them with my blistering speed and your silky mercurial skills, easy passage to fifth round. Bring the Rat for company.

it will be by no means an easy task, add the fact of a few pub stops or tinnies on the train depending on your method of transport and it will most defintely have " feck me long day that !" written all over it by the time you get back home.

Palace are at home to Liverpool in the Premiership (23/01) then next game is home to the mighty Hartlepool United, which means they have 2 weeks to prepare for our game

the easiest way is to drive down, park at a north london tube station then tube and train it to the ground. my favourite for est and south london was driving to denham parking near the station for free and then train and tube it.

I will be travelling from Belfast to London for the game. Does anyone know when the TV games are to be announced? I know last year the 4th round games were announced on the 8th Jan but the round was played weekend of the 24th Jan. I'm planning on flying over on the Friday but cant book until I know whether the date and time gets changed.

On CP's official site the game is scheduled for 3pm Saturday Feb 5th.
If it's going to be changed it needs to be done quickly so fans can make their individual arrangements. How long does it take to decide which matches are on the Telly.
Come on the FA, get yer finger out.

I cant think why ITV or BBC would want to broadcast Palace v Pools live. The outcome is highly predictable; just a matter of how many Palace score. If Pools had been the home side I think a live broadcast would have been nailed on because the tv companies love the prospect of a giant killing. There is no chance of a giant killing in this fixture.

Exciting times to be a poolie though? Wondering if your going to be on tv? Whether your getting 3500 to 6000 tickets for a game that could put you two wins from Wembley in the fa cup. Yes we all know we will probobly get stuffed their but you have to dream.

The fact we have beaten 6 teams from a higher league would be the only reason.

The fact we are currently the countries only giant killers (propa ones due to both cups). I think we should very much deservedly be on the box.
But BBC dont care and United Vs Boro is the one they will be fighting over

Look I am a Poolie through and through and want the best for them. True we have beaten 6 teams from a higher league but five of those were League One and zero were Premiership. Four out of the six were home wins. We are up against millions of pound worth of footballing talent and while any team can have an off day they would have to be spectacularly bad for 90 minutes to lose at home to a League Two team. As we saw in some of the last round of FA Cup fixtures, it is possible for lower league teams to score first against Premiership sides so I guess we could score first before the floodgates open but unless Palace field their youth team we should concentrate on the League. I hope I am wrong.

They showed Chelsea v Chesterfield everyone knew the result before the game was played. I guess palace are more likely to have an off day than Chelsea.

I've been looking at some of the youtube highlights of previous Palace games. Their pace up front is truly frightening.
