Signed - let's give him a fair chance

Fondop - after the crazed minutes on Saturday, please can we send him to Morpeth?

Legend of Rinkender - brilliant but you forgot 'spotty faced' and should have referred to his erectile problems

Conspiracy theory.
I don't think postcode pete from stockshit actually is a stockshit fan. I think he is a Loid, or a Poolie narking the pitch or someone close to the club. He drops little snippets that give him away.
Could this be so or not.

I have a feeling this signing will be successful. I expect at least a hat trick on Saturday.

Definitely not a Stockshite fan - Seems to be a nomad. Just annoying Fan Forums across the North East. Has mates who work in the club so gets the inside pesh. Likes Cricket and reads the Times in Costa on a sunday to feel sophisticated. Thats my thinking anyways.

Also been watching highlights of the new lad. Like what im seeing. Has Pace - can hold the ball and knows where the goal is. Thats all we ask for for now. Will gain valuable experience on the training pitch with the likes of Cullen and Mols. Give him a good few games to get upto speed.

i like the sound of him.....attitude and character seems spot on....not missing any front teeth but suspect he can be a right nasty bastard when needed.... and wont be bullied and out fought....used to leading the line as an out an out no 9.... so should have the ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play.....confident and in form recently in front of goal.....could be just what we need....hope he does the business.... and that everyone.... including the mill house moaners... and the raj haters on here... give him a chance....

If he's titanic does that mean we have to collect him in pieces to assemble him?

Carver needs us as much as we need him. Maybe that will help it work out for both parties.

We've signed a forward who is in red-hot goalscoring form - but at a much lower level - so his adjustment to full-time footy will be where this signing is won & lost. Be great to see him hit the ground running this Saturday...

Southport fans believe we've paid £20,000 for Carver. Could turn out to be an absolute snip. Not sure what Barrow / Carlisle were offering.

‘Southport fans believe’..... that confirms that no one has the slightest idea.

I really really hope you are right. He is extremely well thought of at Rotherham. He stands at six feet six inches and is frightened of nobody. He has been on loan in the National leagues at Chorley and Guisely to get used to the rough stuff and is now ready to step up another notch.
He is twenty.
Useful in the air as you would expect.
Get him in.

If it is a journalist there would be one consideration which could be deemed possible and that is a smack in the teeth.
We're talking about Poolies here. Post code pete has thrown enough insults out to warrant one.

There is a much more recent acquisition from a certain Dunston FC - Scotty Fenwick was scoring for fun when he came to Pools. Look how that turned out. Same with Niko Muir - had a hell of goal scoring record down South. Again was rubbish.

But im very optimistic about this lad as he was wanted by 2 other League clubs (that says something in itself). Hes got the right attributes to succeed with how we play and hes young and hungry by the sounds of things. Give him a few games to get used to the pace etc and i think this could be a good signing for us.

I'm still not convinced Scott Fenwick was given a decent chance. He certainly didn't have a decent run in the team.

Agree.
I don't know why people slate him, played a massive part in our survival.
He went downhill after Moore started playing him on the wing, hed have done well if left as a striker.

Is he that highly thought of in Darlington? I heard good things about an academy player called Lexus Beeden, but it seems Darlington don't want him in their first team yet.

"A real warrior on the pitch, works his socks off for the team" - sounds like he'll fit right in with the tremendous work ethic that is Pool's biggest strength. Also, he's a 6 footer- got to be a better option that comedy Mike Fondop.

By all accounts it's a done deal, so how about we give him a chance in the blue and white rather than writing him off before he's kicked a ball for us?

HearHear.

Well said, but some people on here would go on a cruise and complain because it didn’t sink mid voyage....just so they could sit in the lifeboat and say ‘ I told you so’.

I've got a few decent memories of him in the Bob Marley season but he's not by any stretch of the imagination 'the one that got away.' He's spent most of his time since leaving Pools scratching around in part-time leagues.

Even Darlo couldn't get a tune out of him and they managed to turn John Borthwick into a regular goalscorer!

Beeden is one of those players who always looks lethargic. Looks decent playing for Billingham Town but nowhere near good enough to dislodge our other centre halves at the moment.
Lawlor has taken a few games to settle but he's doing well now but I believe last weekend was the end of his loan for now.
