WTF do some people want. Just got in from the pub after celebrating our win today. We controlled the game for a very long time. Yes it was disappointing that we didn't score more, but we scored more than them , and that is all that matters. We never looked like losing and I thoroughly enjoyed what I watched today. Roll on next week.

Like this from their board-
"Chingachgook with his mohican was a major irritant and contributed to the bad tempered exchanges but was also a good player".

And
" Noble was their only descent player, why we let him dictate the game is a mystery".

I fuck love a 1-0 win me.

It means we won.

I don't care if it was against 10 men or 3 men.

3 points. That's all that matters.

When was the last time we won 4 away on the spin?

Sad as fuck even thinking about complaining about the way we've played. What the fuck is wrong with you people? We've lost once so far this season!

What is sad , is people complaining about people who only want what is best for HUFC. Yes we are happy we won, yes we are happy the season is going well , better than most expected , but some clever people can see through the hype and can envisage possible problems ahead , nothing wrong with that.

We still need to get to grips with our home form. What would happen if Noble got injured?. As the weeks go by Noble will be a marked man believe me. Our strikers need to get more goals. We have only played one of the top 7 etc and have Halifax and Salford away coming up soon. All valid points. No one is complaining about the win, just highlighting a few concerns and possible future problems that we may encounter.

Noble has been a sensation, the midfielder we have been crying out for , for years, Looks like we have finally found a replacement for Mark Tinkler. Solihull it appears tried to kick him out of the game, one of their players got sent off, probably unfairly, a game changer. On another day it will be Noble taking an early bath, that could be a game changer as well. We have all this to come, and its good that certain people can see this.

These message boards are about opinions, personally I like people whose views are different from the pack. They shouldnt be rounded on , just because their views are not the mainstream. Do we want a board where everyone is like Robots, nodding and agreeing with each other, pissing up each others backs? cos that what this board seems like at times.

Anyway I'm off to The Lakes for a week of walking , good beer and nice food , so no Bunker for me this week, make the best of it. I will be back in time to predict a 6-0 thrashing of Eastleigh with James and Muir getting a hat trick each.

PS. I also have to give my son his new , now out of date BLK replica top

Pools are not a one man team. Listening to yesterday's radio commentary it sounded like we had half a dozen decent goalscoring chances that didn't go in. On another a day a couple of them might have. Noble was off his game on Tuesday night and we were still comfortably the better side.

I'm as keen to see Luke Williams fit and back on the pitch as anyone, but over-expectation is in danger of turning sour if he struggles a bit when he's first back - which he could well do, being as how he's only completed a couple of games in the last 18 months. The last thing Bates will do - or needs to do - is rush him into the team before he's ready.

It's the same when people say they can't wait to get Davies back. What exactly are Anderson and the rest of the current defence doing wrong? In a 7 game unbeaten run Pools have conceded 4 goals. They conceded 4 in 3 when Davies was playing! More to the point, Louis Laing is nowhere near the team even with Davies out. This squad is loads better than last season's. That's the main reason Pools are top 4.

What is really sad, is someone harping on unrealistically about our performances. We were at deaths door for nearly a seaon, football life support, now perfection is expected.
Wanting the best and demanding /expecting the best are two polar opposites. Some people appear to be unable to distinguish the difference. Stop defending some people who in my opinion are just simply demanding and unreasonable

After going through your 'What may go wrong on the voyage' check list, we'd have missed several tides.

To be fair in all the games Davies started we played the fairly naive 3-4–3 system that was never going to work. Now we are playing with more cover in midfield and the goals against column has improved. Davies is one of our best players and captain though and he will strengthen the defence, it’s not to say anyone has let us down but you play your strongest team and in that Davies is one of the first names on the team sheet for me. What we don’t have to do is rush him back though like sometimes happens when results aren’t going as well.

As for Mr Horden I don’t see anyone being rounded on but it’s like some look for angles for negativity. Only played one of the top seven? Well Solihull were 7th yesterday morning and hadn’t lost at home since November. Now they’re not and haven’t lost at home since yesterday. Also anyone using language like ‘disappointing’ about an away win is probably just trying to get a reaction.

It's all work in progress & some things still need to be fixed/tweaked

But I'm not going again until
1. - they change the header on the past home match reports on the official site, replacing "Victoria Park" with "The Super 6 Stadium"
2. - they replace the 2017-2018 fixture lists in the toilets on the Neale Cooper stand side of the ground

Fair does. I wasn't criticizing Davies so much as drawing attention to the fact that Myles Anderson has done very well since he came into the side. I tried not to rush to judgement, but he had an absolute mare the first time I saw him play in the friendly at Spennymoor and I did worry that he might be another duff signing on a par with Laing. Should have had more faith in Matty Bates' ability to assess a player.

You need a strong squad to do well consistently in any league and ours is ok. Who'd have thought at the end of last season that the manager would be saying he was willing to let Josh Hawkes go out on loan if he wanted to get more playing time? It's tough on the lad, who is a good prospect, but currently he's behind Noble, Featherstone, Woods, and McLaughlin for a starting place and will be even further away when Williams is fit.

When the opposition do clamp down on Noble it will only free up other space. Its a team game and we have a descent spread of players right across the team.

Always has been a bit of a problem on this board where difference of opinions gets rounded on. Anyway we won, any win after last year is a great win and hopefully a lack of goals up front wont affect us when playing the top teams in this league. We will soon find out. Halifax, salford, orient, Wrexham all coming up.

"Noble was off his game, but we were still comfortably the better side " but we never won, because Noble never scored.

Agree about Davies though, Magnay has been magnificent. When Davies returns , how long will it be for?. I wouldn't drop Magnay as long as the team are getting decent results.

Just a thought if we believe davies/williams are better players certainly experienced why not try davies in the holding midfield and have williams and noble alongside him as attacking midfielders and leave the rest alone and just see if we can increase the goals tally and be much more dominant in games.

hey Poolie - which two do you leave out of the winning/unbeaten team to accommodate Davies & Williams in that line-up ? Unless you were waiting for injuries/suspensions to kick in ?

Because Featherstone is having a great season and everything runs through him?

Totally agree Yloop, Featherstone ran the show yesterday and Solihull must have done some homework on us as they were clearly trying to kick him off the pitch. One of the most under rated Pools signings of the last 20 years. Spoke to a few Solihull fans on the way back to the car and they said much the same thing that everything good we did went through him.
